Emma Watson, Claudia Schiffer Act Their Ages in Harper's Bazaar (PHOTOS)

Maybe we can all be "fabulous at every age," as Harper's Bazaar intones each month. But "fabulous" means something totally different for 20-somethings than 40-somethings.

Case in point is Bazaar's October "Fabulous At Every Age" feature, which includes Emma Watson and Claudia Schiffer.

Derek Blasberg interviews both women, asking them a long list of "favorites" and "bests" that paint a picture of just how fab these two are. But it also makes it clear that Watson is so young, while Schiffer is so... old (even if she doesn't look it).

A quick side-by-side comparison:

Claudia -- I like Chanel’s handheld luggage.
Emma -- I prefer trunks because you can open them and see everything, and they act as a kind of drawer when I don’t have enough time to unpack. They also make me feel like I am going on an adventure.

Every lady has a vice. What’s yours?
Claudia -- Red wine, chocolate, and a lie-in with my husband.
Emma -- Sugar. In any of its various forms.

The true hallmark of modern elegance is:
Claudia -- Understatement.
Emma -- When I figure this out, I’ll let you know!

Adorbz. We often see supermodels and celebrities all trotted out together on red carpets and at fashion shows, but sometimes it's nice to remember that 20-somethings like Emma Watson are just that -- 20-somethings.

The Bazaar covers of Emma and Claudia are both WOS. Emma's photo is a combination is innocence and sophistication while Claudia's photo is more sophisticated with a touch of maturity thrown in. Both are truly beautiful in their own way. I have to say that Emma's photo just floored me though. Just a total WOW!!!

Claudia Schiffer is growing old in much the same was as Brigitte Bardot--with a great deal of beauty, grace, and sex appeal. Would that all of us could age so well.

FYU: This a quote from Brigitte Bardot in a piece she penned "warning" the French of iIslamization of France:

For years, I defined "old" as anyone ten years older than my parents. Now that my mother is 93 and my father is dead, I need a new yardstick. I think I'll switch to anyone who is ten years MY senior.

I do, indeed, remember it. So, I guess that does make me old, by your yardstick. On the other hand, the fact that I remember anything (let alone, vividly) relieves me to think I'm not all that old, by mine.

The goal, of course, was to prove you were the biggest loser. Always helped to have a dead husband. A sick child or two was a plus. And nothing beat telling about it all, from a wheelchair. How those women, draped in beauty queen banners, would weep when awarded a washing machine! (I'm not sure how that helps an ailing child. But, if nothing else, it might bring a t-shirt back from the dead)

Times -- and television -- have changed greatly since then. "Queen for a Day" in 2011 would display an array of decidedly different contestants... most of whom, I suspect, would tout better hair, nails and makeup.

Emma is talented and talented and Claudia is beautiful. Being talented isn't a requirement for what Claudia does- but beauty is.
