John Covington, Recovery Schools Chief, Defends Record In Kansas City
The Detroit News:
The new leader of a Michigan recovery system for failing schools defended his record in Kansas City on Wednesday, a day after the district he used to lead lost its state accreditation.
But education leaders in Detroit said the development raises questions about John Covington's hiring as chancellor of the Education Achievement System, which will open in Detroit next fall. Covington begins work in Detroit on Monday.
