Palestine Statehood Bid: Obama Slammed By Protesters

Palestine Statehood Bid Obama

First Posted: 09/22/11 08:18 AM ET Updated: 11/22/11 05:12 AM ET

RAMALLAH, West Bank -- Palestinian protesters have denounced President Barack Obama for his opposition to their bid to win U.N. recognition of a Palestinian state.

Dozens rallied on Thursday outside Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' office in Ramallah.

They held up anti-Obama signs, including one reading "Obama the hypocrite" and another claiming the American president is siding "with killers against victims."

Obama told the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday that a state can only be established through negotiations with Israel. The U.S. has said it would block the recognition request in the Security Council.

Abbas says he prefers negotiations but disagrees with Israel over the starting point for talks.

After the Holocaust the USA should have relocated the Jews to Greenland. Think of how much better off we would all be? I mean they lived in Russia, Germany and Poland for 2000 years...Jews were used to cold weather at that point. Maybe we can relocate the wailing wall to Greenland? What do you say?

The Israel and American Jewish lobby OWNS Obama. I really thought Obama would have a backbone. Nope.

Now the GOP is going to cut ALL Aid by the USA to Palestinians and give it to Israelis. It's sick the degree to which Israel literally Owns and Runs the USA. We - the USA have lost our sovreignty to Judaic Law. Crazy.

It would be so nice if the world and it's many governments would start acknowledging that Palestinian problem is fueled heavily by Saudi-Arabia. Perhaps fuel is the reason why it's kept so quiet. Most of the Muslims who live in Israel are very happy and successful because they do not fall pray to the "palestinian" rhetoric and hate. They refer to themselves as Israeli Arabs and they call the Jews their cousins. The Jews respect them and they respect the Jews. If Saudi-Arabia would leave the Palestinians alone and let the cousins work it out, maybe there could eventually be peace.

Bull! The problem is fueled by Euro and USA Jews invading the region with USA weapons Einstein negotiated for them without paying compensation or giving back land after the Jewish state was established. The the USA gave Nukes to Israel in violation of international law thus feuling an arms race which we now blame on Iran. Lies lies lies. Then more lies on top of those lies until the truth is all but hidden.

The Palestinians have a state it's called Jordan. 60% of Jordanians are Palestinians. Nobody want this worthless peace of land now called Israel until the Jews moved in there and turned the desert into a rich, farmland and made it the third richest country in the Middle East. It is the one piece of land in the Mideast with no oil, yet the Jews managed to make it into the only real democracy in the Middle East.

Israel has tried to negotiate with the Palestinians for years and all they have to show for it are innocent women and babies slaughtered by Palestinians suicide bombers. Who did the Palestinians elect as their group? Hamas, an international terrorist group- that should show how much they want to "negotiate" and want peace!

Let's be honest this has zero to do with the land. If the Jews converted to Islam tomorrow you would see all the hatred end, and no Palestinians would be asking for a state. The fact is the Muslims can't live with the Jews or anyone else unless they are a complete minority like in the US. They are all hardliners, as the moderate Muslims walk away as soon as the extremist come in.

That's why the terrorist organization Irgun had to drive 700.000 Palestinian men, women and children, from their homes. keep believing hasbara myths, less and less people are.

It is hard to square Obama's position that we should use the UN to help opressed peoples gain recognition and world support (such as Egypt, Libya, Sudan, etc.) but this process is no good at all for the Palestinians.

What happened to the Arab summer? Oh yea, it was only for the Arab people whose regimes we don't like.

Obama-"a unilateral declaration of statehood on disputed land is obviously not going to bring peace. You should reach an agreement through negotiation, or accept the offers made by the israelis for a palestinian state in 2000 and 2008. I am supportive of a palestinian state achieved peacefully, through negotiation".

Nothing to say about the clear anti-semitic nature of many of the signs
02:14 PM on 09/25/2011
A few people have brought up the term "antisemitic" - Arabs are Semites, and so are those Jews who descend from Arab tribes (that is, tribal people originating in the Arabian peninsula). A person who is of Scandinavian ancestry who converts to Judaism, is not Semitic, in the same way that an Anglo Saxon who converted to Islam would not be an Arab.

So to be anisemitic, one would have a prejudice against all Arabs, but not all Jews. And, by the way, Persians (Iran) are not Arabs, they are Caucasians. Turks are not Arabs, they are Turks.

A thousand years of purgatory for the palestinians.....they have earned their right to their hell on earth. To bad, for such an intelligent group of peoples, to act so stupidly.....deserving of what befalls them.

"They have failed to learn any lesson from the terrible distress that has been theirs for over fourteen hundred years in exile. Nor can they obtain any end or definite terminus of this, as they suppose, by means of the vehement cries and laments to God." - That is what Martin Luther wrote about Jews. Do you see the similarity between your words and his?

Indeed, Obama sided with the killers.
08:55 PM on 09/25/2011
Obama ALWAYS sides with the killers, but they are OK because their crimes are justified. Nice to have such morality in the white house!
09:12 PM on 09/25/2011
Of course you just look the other way when Palistinian terrorists launch rpgs into schoolbuses, and launch rockets into civillian areas...Not to mention using civillians as shields when Israel strikes back.

Obama is a dictator when it comes to Israel. He has dictated where their boundaries should be. But then again remember his middle name is "Hussein". Maybe he should look at the boundaries of the US that fought with Mexico and won TX, NM, CO, AZ, CA. As the saying goes, "To the victor belong the spoils". The same goes for Israel. Israel was attacked viciously in 1948, 1967, 1973 and from thereon with suicide bombings. By these attacks from the Arab countries, Israel rightfully took back land that originally belonged to them. And therefore, "To the victor belong the spoils".

Ahh…. Hello out there....Look I am not a great supporter of this President...but I am disgusted the way others here have taken the foreigners part against him. As MY President I will beg to disagree with him when ever or where ever I want. ..... But you will never see me taking some foreign Government's position against him...This started in this country with Bush II, and I think it a disgusting display. If you are really so sick of this country that you can not support YOUR own President against foreign abuse...I suggest perhaps you should look into leaving and joining the foreigners.

Human Rights come before allegiance to a president by a long shot. Try being something other than a Good German.

Without loyalty to this country, you would have no Human Rights, Don't believe me? Go live in N Korea and see how many Human Rights you have. It is because of Loyalty to this great nation that you now have the ability to engage in Human Rights.

You have no idea what you are talking about. This did not start with Bush II. After WWII NATO, and the Brits divided up those lands and offered tham to Israel, the Palestinians, etc. The Israelis accepted the proposal. The Palestinians did not and, instead, chose to move into Syria. Subsequently Syria, seeing them as a drain on their economy, kicked them out. They have since then been offered peaceful solutions and statehood many, many times but each time they refused or insisted that the state of Israel be dissolved. Read the history before making comments about something you know nothing about.

he has realized that along with the dismay of his enconomic plans and policies that it would
be maybe only one term of presidency anyway if he does not support his American-Jewish voters who may have felt that it's not the right time and or against the Palestinian to ask for their statehood while knowing negotiations has not worked for past decade and making a meaningless statement saying a statehood comes through hardworks but he has missed an opportunity and steps toward mending his and his former administrations foregin policies in the Middle East unless he is only puting on a show to always side with US only closest Ally in Middle East http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/opinion/2011/09/201192065551745558.html

Jewish voters in a few areas - but it's more about Jewish electoral influence. Used to be about WASP influence. And we all agreed on it. Now if someone suggests Israel-First from American zionist Jews - it's somehow anti-Semitic.
