An End For The Record Store That Survived ITunes

St. Clair Shores, Mi.: An End For The Record Store That Survived iTunes

“Obviously I’ve been here a long time. I’m approaching 70, " said Bob Setlik, the owner of Car City Records, in St. Clair Shores, Mi. He has decided to close the store, although it's not directly because of the rise of digital music that has done in so many other record stores.

“All record stores lost the younger crowd … six, seven, eight years ago,” he said. “It doesn’t really affect any decision I made."

Then again, as Setlik decided to retire, no one else was prepared to take his place.

"I’m not going to be able to spark up and re-energize a store. That’s for some younger person. Things could be done, but you need younger blood with a lot of energy.”
