Diego Camilla

Tip to Camilla Belle: don't eat that apple.

With Bradley Cooper and Ben Walker on board to play Lucifer and Michael in the motion capture big screen adaptation of John Milton's "Paradise Lost," Variety reports that the Alex Proyas-directed feature is now in the process of filling out its cast. Casey Affleck is in talks to join Walker as archangel Gabriel in the battle against evil, while Diego Boneta and Camilla Belle are circling the crucial parts of Adam and Eve.

Boneta, 20, is best known for his work in Mexico, though he's had recurring roles in "90210" and "Pretty Little Liars." He'll have his breakout performance in the Adam Shankman-directed big screen adaptation of "Rock of Ages," in which he joins such superstars as Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Paul Giamatti and Russel Brand.

As for Belle, a child actress turned 25-year old veteran, she's starred in such films as "Jurassic Park II: The Lost World," "10,000 BC" and "Push." She has another big screen biblical adaptation coming, starring as Mary in "Mary Mother of Christ."

Seriously folks, full blown essays coveting religious content..."biblical adaptation." Which religious doctrine does this 'spin' fall into?

You know.. I find it very very ostentatious that people are screaming about the fact that Hollywood has the tendency to completely destroy any "factual" story. What's even worse is that now? It's the Christians who are screaming the loudest. Let's not forget the fiasco that was "The Passion of the Christ". Or the movie that just came out recently about Mary and the birth of Jesus. However, Christians are, yet again, proving just how hypocritical they truly are. They scream, rant and rave about how Hollywood is going to "sensationalize" stories from the Bible; yet, they turn right around and anytime a movie is made where Witchcraft, Paganism and any other alternative religion is protrayed (wrongly, I might add) and take it for "Gospel" or "Factual". I can't tell you how many times I've been asked, "So, can you really fly like the witches in Practical Magic?" (Which is one of my favorite movies, btw.. Oh, and did I fail to mention that I'm a proud Pagan? Yeah? Well I am.) I also can't tell you how many times I've been accused of worshiping Satan by some back-woods, inbred, ignorant Holy Rollin' Christian all because they seen it on a T.V. show or in a movie.. Really, Christians? You're going to scream, rant and rave about YOUR religion getting misrepresented in a movie about Adam and Eve? Psh.. G. T. F. O. H.!!!

To do a movie about the bible...check your facts. First of all Though Gabriel is mentioned as an angel, he wasn't an Arch angel. Only one Arch Angel is spoken of in the entire bible and that's Michael. The prefix “arch,” meaning “chief” or “principal,” implies that there is only one archangel, the chief angel; in the Scriptures, “archangel” is never found in the plural. First Thessalonians 4:16, in speaking of the preeminence of the archangel and the authority of his office, does so in reference to the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ: “The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a commanding call, with an archangel’s voice and with God’s trumpet, and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first.” It is, therefore, not without significance that the only name directly associated with the word “archangel” is Michael.

I take it this is a "historically accurate drama" about Adam and Eve, right? A seriously intended adaptation of the bible story? My concern is that, according to the bible, Eve came from "Adam's Rib" because God saw that man was lonely. So, for all intents and purposes, that makes Eve Adam's daughter. Eventually, Even turns into a sex-fiend and tempts Adam with an apple of sin and they have sex, which infers that it is OKAY to have sex with your daughter. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here. Basically, a movie is coming out which endorses incest between a father and his daughter (or brother and sister depending on you look at it) and fathering children on the same.

I think I'll just stick to "factual dramas" that are less perverted. The (so far) fictitious parody, "Adam and Steve" porn adaptation is looking better and better because at least there won't be resultant children.

Oh and if the Father and Mother of all humanity were so hot looking, why aren't I?

Sorry...you're incorrect. The bible says that Adam was naming animals who had mates and Adam noticed there was no mate for him, read (Genesis 2:20-22) "So the man was calling the names of all the domestic animals and of the flying creatures of the heavens and of every wild beast of the field, but for man there was found no helper as a complement of him.  Hence Jehovah God had a deep sleep fall upon the man and, while he was sleeping, he took one of his ribs and then closed up the flesh over its place.  And Jehovah God proceeded to build the rib that he had taken from the man into a woman and to bring her to the man." She was design a perfect fit, compliment, helper (not slave or underling).
(Genesis 1:28) "Further, God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it, and have in subjection the fish of the sea and the flying creatures of the heavens and every living creature that is moving upon the earth.”
God created a mate for Adam & they were suppose to have children and spread that Garden over the earth as they had chlidren, they'd grow up & help them. But they disobeyed GOD and ate the fruit (not apple, origin unkown)

(Romans 1:24-27) . . .Therefore God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them, even those who exchanged the truth of God for the lie and venerated and rendered sacred service to the creation rather than the One who created, who is blessed forever. Amen. That is why God gave them up to disgraceful sexual appetites, for both their females changed the natural use of themselves into one contrary to nature; and likewise even the males left the natural use of the female and became violently inflamed in their lust toward one another, males with males, working what is obscene and receiving in themselves the full recompense, which was due for their error."

White supremacists believe it is the mark of Cain from the Bible. It was also used throughout time to justify racism. Even back during slavery times most churches and Christian groups held that belief and that is why slavery was ok. Only a small group of Christians during that time didn't hold the belief but they were thought of as out casts and I can't remember the name of the Christian group.

I don't know what group you are referring to, but the original baptists or Anabaptist believed in universality of the soul and many would not own slaves because of this. In the mid 1800's part of the baptist group broke away from the main body of baptists and founded the first baptist church. The main body took the name Primitive Baptist. But I also know that many Quakers, Menonites, Amish and other Geneva based protestants believed this also.

I wonder how much of the Bible these so-called "Celebrities" have read up on.

Actually, Paradise Lost offers many dramatic possibilities. Though, by the cast it's obvious they aren't trying to take advantage of any of the possibilities. For example, Lucifer is the most interesting and engaging character of the whole poem. I immediately think Daniel Day Lewis for such a role. As of now, they got a bunch of pretty people and are obviously going to turn this into an action flick, much like Troy or 300.

I'm very interested in how this movie is going to turn out. Seems like a very difficult concept to pull off.

Ignorance is bliss... Reality TV anyone?

Somehow, someway... people commenting have found a way to bring Obama into an article about adam & eve and a movie...

It's amazing how many seemingly political campaign managers take the time to post on irrelevant articles..

Turkey? I think not. Most scholars think the Garden of Eden was either in Africa or Mesopotamia.

There are plenty of theories. I tend to go with Turkey.

There are those that state Mesopotamia and Africa. I think the field is pretty wide open, but I still say Turkey.
