It's nearly time to make Halloween Jack O'Lanterns, and it seems Connecticut has a new record-setting pumpkin ... a pumpkin 40 pounds heavier than the previous record holder, NBC Connecticut reported.
Owner Ken Desrosiers, who began growing the pumpkin at the end of June, recorded the transformation by setting up a camera to take a photo every 15 minutes.
The result? A super cool time-lapse video of Connecticut's largest pumpkin.
If you want to know just how large, it was measured at Durham Fair last Wednesday, and weighed in at a whopping 1487.5 lbs.
Unfortunately, not everyone will get a pumpkin for Halloween this year, not even a small one. Northeastern states recently warned of a pumpkin shortage after Hurricane Irene destroyed hundreds of patches across the region. It seems there's enough pumpkin in the massive one in the video below to go around...
The video from Desrosiers isn't the only time-lapse to awe the internet.

Fly over planet Earth on the International Space Station in this video -- it's almost as good as being there yourself. Almost.
