SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- A Puerto Rico police officer has been accused of calling in sick and submitting fake doctor's notes to avoid work.

Officer Luis Samuel Colon was charged Tuesday with 36 counts of falsifying and altering medical certifications. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Prosecutor Maricarmen Rodriguez says Colon also is accused of fraud by stealing the identities of two doctors and including false health information not authorized by them.
