Obama Jobs Tour: White House Mixes Up Wyoming, Colorado Geography On Press Credentials

First Posted: 09/27/2011 5:17 pm Updated: 11/27/2011 4:12 am

The White House mixed up Wyoming and Colorado when issuing press credentials for President Barack Obama's tour of Western states this week. The press credentials show California, Washington, and Wyoming highlighted in white.

However, the president spoke Tuesday in the other rectangular-shaped state: Colorado. Wyoming was not on the itinerary.

The president spoke at Abraham Lincoln High School, in one of Denver's most impoverished neighborhoods, to promote his $447 billion American Jobs Act, as part of a series of seven fundraisers and speeches down the West Coast over the last two days in Washington state and California.

"I want it back, passed, so I can sign this bill and start putting people back to work," Obama said.

Tickets for the event sold out in about an hour, according to 9News.

I went to a Jesuit High School and the VP had this HUGE solid wood paddle with vent holes in it for maximum damage. It was a viable threat, not taken lightly by any of us, and when "justice" was administered it could be heard thru the whole wing of classrooms. First this "Crack" like a starting gun, and then the yell or moan of the victim. If we were ONE second late for study hall we had to memorize 30 lines out of the Bible, and to acquire 30 points in the dorms meant a weekend of sitting on ONE spot on one of the lawns ALL weekend long. Passing Jesuits could sign our detention slip ONCE EVERY HOUR! We got to go to bed at 9pm. It started again the next day at 8am.
But we STILL managed to get a hold of some marijuana ... kids are WAY resourceful and VERY imaginative ... and the ones who are oft the worst, become the President sometimes.

I think Obama should have held back a crack force of Democrats to run that bill thru the House while the opposition is playing overseas. I wonder who is paying for THAT little excursion! They are most likely on the taxpayers nickel while doing some "fact finding" mission for Congress. How to we find out where they went? Is there a Congressional Bulletin Board with all the latest dirt?

That must be one of the 57 States Obama was talking about.

Can you imagine if this happened when Bush was POTUS? MSNBC's lib sheep would talk about this for weeks.
04:07 AM on 09/29/2011
As much as Obama needs to get this thru to save his tail at the polls coming up he had also better hope it works. If THIS bill works Obama is in for 4 more. It it fails we are all going to be looking for a new place to live .... like Spain! I love Spain and would rather live there anyway. But here's Wishing Good Luck to President O on the Jobs Bill ... and may it rain jobs on the country overall, and hopefully get some solar panel funding too ... (NOT for Solyndra) ... and some new Windmills and a geothermal plant or two .... AND some New Refineries built by Exxon so we have no more excuses for price hikes in fuel.

Hey right wingers...

The President of the United States does not and never has been the one that issues press credentials.

I have a two-city press pass from the Carter administration. It's framed on my wall. But I don't tell people that the President issued it to me.

If this had been done 2000-2008, the libs would be having a field day, but since it was the obama administration, pass is given, typical.

Horsecrap. In either case the folks from the opposite party who are frothing at the mouth make hay of the flub for a day or so and then move on.

The difference being that in prior administrations there was recognition of the difference between ADMINISTRATION errors and those of the President.

In 2000-2008 we had President Bush who we all knew, and he freely admitted, that he could not produce ANY kind of badge, even paper ones, while, if we take a stereotypical look at Obama, no offense meant, we automatically believe that he should have been able to have those defective passes MADE to pass any inspection. And WHY is this even a topic on here? Have we NO LIFE out side the Huff? Apparently not!

Yeah, but I'm sure you blamed BUSH when FEMA screwed up in New Orleans, so keep drinking that Obama cool aid
05:52 PM on 09/29/2011
You say “Yeah, but I'm sure you blamed BUSH when FEMA screwed up in New Orleans, so keep drinking that Obama cool aid”

Comparing a screw up in a basement office of the White House, a screw up which was quickly fixed and which the President couldn't rationally be held to have any responsibility for or interest in, to Bush's involvement in and unquestionable responsibility for overseeing disaster relief in New Orleans is intellectually weak.

Typically.

It's like comparing apples to aardvarks.

I don't want a president to waste his time writing out press passes. But I do want a president to address his full attention to saving people's lives in a major crisis.

Call me old fashioned.

Maybe the Media Press Pass Holders could hold an auction for these misprinted passes.
These are sure to become a collector's item..sell to the highest bidders, and use the money to fund Business' to produce more products "MADE IN AMERICA" in turn create more jobs in ALL 50 States. (Maybe the passes were made in China? I wouldn't doubt it...LOL :(

People that don't make mistakes are the ones who aren't doing any work. I suppose I'd rather have someone confuse a couple of rectangular states than sit dumbfounded in front of a bunch of school children while the country is being attacked. Bush would have probably hurt one of the kid's feelings if he'd gotten up and taken immediate action.

I must have missed the number on this "jobs bill" (HR????) the president is promoting and the dems have introduced so he can have it send back to sign it. Mixing up Colorado and Wyoming should be the rest of the 55 states wondering if the WH can get their geography right.

We all make mistakes! When the presidents massive support team makes this type of dumb mistake it could be a sign of a much more serious problem. Usually someone gets fired for this kind of screw up! It is embarrassing! If they screw up something as simple as this what other mistakes have they made that we don't know about?

Just like Bush knew when our "Mission was Accomplished", Palin knows Herman Cain's true first name is 'Herb', Bachmann knew the founding fathers fought feverishly for the abolishment of slavery, and Boehner's really fighting for jobs...namely his own.
04:22 AM on 09/29/2011
Just like Obama didn't personally make this mistake, Bush didn't hang that sign on the aircraft carrier.

Palin is an idiot and she can reenforce that without anyones help. She's the best thing that ever happened to the democrats.

Bachmann happens to be somewhat right about the founding fathers. They did try and it was even brought up in the early drafts of the Declaration of Independence, of all places, but the southern states would not have voted for independence had it been included. They took a stab at it but solidarity was more pragmatic in the context of the time than freeing the slaves. One thing at a time was their conclusion.

Benjamin Franklin was an abolitionist, John Adams was very much anti-slavery. The first draft of the Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson contained anti-slavery language that was taken out by the southern states, the issue at the time was independence, not slavery. So many of the founding fathers were fighting to abolish slavery.
