Changed the game by: Bringing her comedic gifts to the big screen in a groundbreaking, gutbusting female-centered comedy.

Many "Saturday Night Live" members have made the leap from sketch comedy to the big screen, but only a handful, like Bill Murray and Will Ferrell, can carry a film. Now we can add Ms. Wiig to the list. Kristen Wiig wrote "Bridesmaids" with her friend Annie Mumolo and starred in it, too. It became the highest grossing female comedy of all time, and proved to the Hollywood muckity mucks that mainstream audiences will watch women being funny (did they really still need to learn that lesson?). It also proved that Ms. Wiig is a gigantic talent who has an even bigger range beyond her indelible character work on SNL (Penelope, Dooneese, Suze Ormann, the list goes on). Now we can look forward to seeing Wiig in the new season of "SNL," and also to seeing her in upcoming films: Jennifer Westfeldt's "Friends with Kids" and "Imogene" with Annette Bening.

She said it: "I still have some time left at 'SNL.' And hopefully I'll be making movies for a really long time. I love doing it, it's what I've always wanted to do -- that and being on 'SNL.' So I feel extremely lucky right now. I'm very happy. I hope to be able to do more dramatic things and direct sometime. But right now I feel extremely grateful to have the situation that I have doing 'SNL' and then on the hiatus, hopefully, working on films. I couldn't be happier."
