Angela Simmons, the daughter of the legendary Run DMC rapper Rev. Run, stripped down to nothing in a new ad for the People for The Ethical Treatment of Animals.
The spot is meant to draw attention to PETA's "Go Vegetarian" campaign. Simmons said she gave up eating meat because of her uncle Russell, the outspoken mogul and activist, who has been vegan for more than a decade. "He let me watch a video that kind of threw me off," she said. "And I was like, I don't want to eat anymore meat!"
Simmons, a devout Christian, appears in the ad completely naked, save for an apple strategically placed in front of her crotch.
"I don't want to start any controversy, but I guess it's weird to me that somebody's naked, but you won't really see anything," Simmons said. "It's classy, and I won't go about it in a crazy way."
PETA has long courted controversy for its risqué (and some say exploitative) use of naked women in its advertisements. Earlier this summer, the animal rights group said it even intended to create a porn site.
