It would be a crime not to capture baby's first steps on video, right? Well, this elephant calf's first stumbles are no exception.

The unnamed male came into the world Monday at San Diego Zoo Safari Park. He was born to his mother, Umngani, who was brought to the US in 2003 because of a drought in Swaziland, according to SanDiego.com.

The video captures the cute elephant trying his luck at walking around -- near Mom, of course. He's a bit wobbly on his legs, but he does a pretty good job, thanks to some moral support from the rest of his herd.

Umngani has given birth three times at the park, according to NBC San Diego. The calf's older sister, Khosi, has been helping out by keeping a watchful eye on her baby brother.

There are now 18 elephants at Safari Park, North County Times reports. A male calf was born on Valentine's Day in February 2010.
