Marisa Tomei Wore Red Leather To 'The Ides Of March' Premiere (PHOTOS, POLL)

At last night's "Ides of March" premiere in Los Angeles, while Evan Rachel Wood and Ryan Gosling suited up, Marisa Tomei opted for a less conventional ensemble.

The actress wore an interesting deep crimson dress featuring leather side panels and a center panel made of chiffon. The effect was, how do we put this... a little loincloth-y.

Don't get us wrong -- Tomei looked gorgeous, with her barely made-up face and a fantastic ombre hairstyle.

But we can't wrap our minds around the frock, which reminds us more and more of a gladiator's outfit the more we stare at it.

Hey, who hits a home-run every time at bat? I've seen what I tthought was better. GOD knows I've seen what I thought was worse. But what the heck do I know. My idea of dressed is tan shoes with pink shoelaces, a polka dot vest , and a pink Panama with a purple hat band. Just like Dooley.

I will forever hate her. I worked at Ground Zero. One night she was there on the edge of the pile, walking around in spike heels. How disgusting that was. There were body parts all over and dust. And here she was wandering around in spike heels.Then she was on Letterman talking about the party she had at her loft for firemen and how hot they were. This was right after 9/11 and it was just disrespectful and disgusting.
