Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock & Unknown Boy Face American Tragedy

As New Yorkers looked back on the ten year wake of the attacks on September 11th, 2001, stories of loss, pain, heroism and perseverance abound. Now, one of the more notable fictional stories about the time period is readying itself for a star-studded big screen debut.

"Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close," based on the 2005 novel by Jonathan Safran Foer about a boy who sets off to unlock the secrets held tight by a key left by his father, who died in the attack on the World Trade Center, has released its first touching trailer. The film stars Tom Hanks as the late father, Sandra Bullock as his wife and Thomas Horn, a 13-year old "Jeopardy" champion as the genius son in search of answers.

His quest leads him to unexpected new locales and introduces him to a wide range of people, with John Goodman, Viola Davis and James Gandolfini, amongst others, entering the picture.

The film is due to receive a limited release starting on Christmas Day, with a full opening in theaters about a month later.
