MLB Playoffs Schedule 2011: Division Series Matchups

Before we get to the 2011 MLB playoff schedule, let's just recap real quick. The final night of the season was unbelievable! Down 7-6 to the Yankees in the bottom of the ninth, Rays pinch-hitter Dan Johnson jacked a game-tying home run and sent the game into extra innings. Later in the evening after a long rain delay, Baltimore stunned the Red Sox in the bottom of the ninth and won on a walk-off hit by Robert Andino. Just three minutes after that, third baseman Evan Longoria hit a walk-off home run down the third base line to send Tampa Bay to the postseason. Oh, and the Braves completed their colossal collapse too.

Ok... so let's get to the schedule shall we? (Everything is subject to change)

Why do the Yanks (1) play Detroit (3) instead of the #4 Rays???. The National league is playing 1 vs. 4 and 2 vs. 3......

It's because they are in the same division . An 1 seed would play the 4th seed unless same division.
