'Play Tebow!' Billboard Goes Up In Denver (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 09/30/11 03:48 PM ET   Updated: 11/30/11 05:12 AM ET

Earlier in September, a group of Broncos fans that bonded over their mutual love for Tim Tebow vowed to pay for "We Want Tim Tebow!" billboards in Denver. Well, it looks like they got beat to the punch by employees at Multiline International Imports who have surrendered their own digital billboard for their favorite backup QB: Tim Tebow.

The sign at the corner of 58th and Logan in Denver has several rotating pro-Broncos images reading "Broncos Fans To John Fox: Play Tebow!!" and "Welcome To Tebow-Land." One image predicts a win for the Broncos over Green Bay this weekend. And another image shows Tebow in uniform, on the field, with both fingers pointing up towards the sky (see slideshow below).

First-And-Orange first reported on the billboards and spoke with Multiline International employee Mohammad Suleiman about using the company sign to support the loved-hated quarterback:

Tebow's the man. He's bringing excitement to Denver like we haven’t seen in a few years.

There was at least one positive reaction to the billboard -- Broncos team spokesman Patrick Smyth had this to say, "We have the best fans in the NFL. This is another example of their unrivaled passion and enthusiasm for the Broncos," ProFootballTalk reports.

But Coach John Fox who reportedly could not hear Broncos fans chanting for Tebow in the Broncos game against the Raiders appears to be unwavering in keeping Orton as starting quarterback. He isn't blind to the billboards, he just doesn't make it to that side of town, he said to The Denver Post:

I'm sure there's a lot of billboards. I just don't get downtown that much.

As Yahoo! Sports reported, Fox does have a point -- the Multiline billboard is about 20 miles away from the Broncos Dove Valley training facility in Englewood and about 5 miles from newly renamed Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

I guess this Tebow "story" is more noteworthy than Aaron Rogers' four touchdown passes and two touchdown rushes. No Packers victory story, instead more Tebow bs? C'mon Huffpost.

Tebow is hot garbage, period. Can't wait to trade him and hopefully win the Andrew Luck lottery.

It would be great if we started Tebow: we could lose to KC twice and win the Andrew Luck lottery!!!

Evangelicism and pro football do not mix. One's religion does not qualify them to be a starter.

I agree with the billboard. But I hate The Broncos so perhaps I'm biased.

I suffered through four years of Tebow at Florida, and yes, suffered is the correct word. If you're a fan of the game, you're going to hate the way Tebow plays quarterback. The guy has no sense when it comes to reading the field. When in doubt, he tucks it in and starts running, shoulder down. That might work in college, but he's going to get crushed in the pros.

I don't believe you. Either you aren't a Florida fan or you aren't a fan of football.

Real UF fans, and real football fans care about one thing: winning. Your elitist attitude w/r/t the way the game is played is so 1950's. Evolve or be left behind.

Well, Florida fans must be crying in their beer tonight! Bama creamed them once again and the last time it happened was the night FL played AL for the SEC Championship and Tebow was the QB. The night he cried!

Yes, Tim, Invisible Jesus was helping you get touchdowns by tripping the other players & stuff. Because who wins in a football game is REAL HIGH on his list of priorities.

What I see is an immature BMOC who is more interested in a television career than in becoming a proficient NFL quarterback. He's also aiding and abettimg disharmony on the team. The Broncos have a coach who's paid to make the decisions and not listen to some fan club.

Hey bronco fans. Calm down. It's a fact that what goes up, will come down and what goes down will come up again. Elway will get the right people in the right places, but it will take more than one year and it will probably take several quarterback's and possibly coach's. But, it will happen. Honest to goodness I was so hoping you would end up last, last year. No, not out of spite, but because I believe in Sam Bradford. One more loss and you could have had him instead. He did everything tebow did in college, but Oklahoma (the most winning team in football) knows football. Bradford had a great rookie season, now, the poor guy has mcdaniels as his coach. We all know mcdaniels any place but the cheating pats is a loser.
But I digress.
It will get better, but be patient. I have been watching the broncos since they were started here. Anyone else remember the 'half a loaf' game? Have some faith in Elway, cause you know how he hates to lose. He'll get you the winning team you want but it will take more than 1 year.
Signed a Raider fan in Denver ( I know how bad it feels to be on a losing streak)

Wow, an obscure billboard in some remote part of town which isn't even visible from I25. Thanks for the article HP.

Just tank the season and draft Luck. That's your best option at this point.

The prediction that the Broncos will beat the Packers this weekend shows that these people know absolutely nothing about football.
08:31 AM on 10/01/2011
I agree GB is the stronger team, but the Broncos have some crazy good pass rushers (and occasional run stuffers), and Orton has had a lot of success against the Packers in his time with Da Bears. Orton could play a really game, and with the injuries on the Packers team, this could be a "trap" game. As a Packers fan, I hope the Packers play top ball, but it's not a bye week.
