Trey Parker & Matt Stone Talk Dropping Acid At The Oscars, 'South Park,' 'Mormon' And More On Kimmel (VIDEO)

Trey Parker and Matt Stone have come a long way since the construction paper days of "South Park."

Between their hit Broadway musical (now destined to become a film), "South Park" beginning its 15th season and a Comedy Central documentary about them premiering next week, right now the foul-mouthed duo can do no wrong.

Seems like the perfect time to clear up what kind of drugs they were on in the year 2000, right?

In a three-part interview on Thursday night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!," Parker and Stone talk about "Six Days To Air" the new documentary about their "South Park" creative process (of which we got a taste on last week's "60 Minutes"), as well as their recent foray into teaching at NYU and of course, "The Book Of Mormon." But they also took time to clear up a recent confession they made about their notorious trip to the 2000 Oscars in ladies' gowns.

During an interview on Letterman earlier this year, the guys admitted to being under the influence at the Oscars when they dressed up as J-Lo and Gwyneth Paltrow, but described it as "Sheening," as it was the hot term at the time.

Fearing that people may think they were on cocaine, the guys made sure last night that Kimmel and the rest of the world knew they were actually on acid at the Oscars. We'll leave it up to you to decide whether or not that's an important distinction -- we were more taken aback when they said they had bought back-up tuxes and almost chickened out of wearing the gowns!

Watch all three parts below to hear the acid story as well as what it was like to be the subject of a documentary about their insanely fast turn around on "South Park." And when we say fast, we mean fast. According to them, they haven't even formulated the plot of next week's premiere, only five days away. And yet, "The Book Of Mormon" took them seven years!

The new mid-season premiere of "South Park" airs Wednesday Oct. 5 at 10:00 p.m. EST on Comedy Central and "Six Days To Air" hits TV on Sunday, Oct. 9.

If they had been drunk at the Oscars would there be as much discussion about the merits of alcohol? Yet alcohol has ended more lives than any other drug except nicotine. Having said that, in my experience the best high comes from natural exploration of the mind through meditation.

If you can get the pure stuff it is absolutely amazing. No speed buzz, no being wired, very mellow, much lower possibilities of a bad trip. Of course on the street you can never trust what's in it, or whether the maker got his chemistry right. It's like playing Russian Roulette. That said, my favorite metaphor for taking Acid is that you are running down a long corridor - that corridor is your mind. You are opening doors at random, and sometimes there are very beautiful things behind those doors. Of course, demons also lurk within and behind door might be a demon who could eat you alive. Some brothers and sisters have not come back or have only been a shadow of their former selves. Others of us are relatively unscathed but one thing is true - once you are "Experienced" you are never, ever the same.

On the issue of the wisdom of dropping acid (something that has been an issue of contention on this story), I think Sid Barrett proves that it is not without risks, but Pink Floyd proves that the risk can be worthwhile.

Hmmm. I know a story about Roger Waters and acid that proves the risk can be deadly. I can't tell it or I might get sued. Let's just say I like their music more than their drug ethics. What you take for yourself is different than what you give others unsuspectingly.

LSD is by far the best drug I've ever done.

Dr. Timothy Leary, Ph.D. was right about the "set and setting" thing, and the whole "ego loss, non-game ecstasy, clear light of reality" thing.

I've done some of my own scientific research in this area, lol.
01:44 PM on 10/02/2011
Yeah, so how could two intelligent guys high on acid remain functional as presenters (and not be either convulsed with laughter or paralyzed with revulsion and loathing) while they were immersed in the hyper-egotistic, phony-baloney "awards" environment that is the Oscars?

I think peyote is much better than acid. No chemical after effects. Set and setting matter more than people think. It is not a party drug.

I prefer mushrooms as I've never had mescalin. LSD is just so in your face that it has the potential, even when taken in the proper set and setting, to spin you. Psilocybin seems a little more tempered.

The great thing about these guys and seeing them talk and watching them work is that they're just regular dudes. They remind me of myself and my friends and just seem like cool people to hang out with.

Except they're not "regular" dudes. They are extremely driven, ambitious and talented. Regular dudes are not these things. That's why they're regular.
