Funny - Apple rumors the release of a cheaper, stripped down version of the iphone and it's hailed as a leap in innovation and genius. When Amazon issues a cheaper, stripped down version of the ipad it's doomed to failure.

How does that work through the confines of the diseased fanboi mind exactly?

Apple produce better products. These other company need to create their own ideas. Well stop trying to make their own iPhone because it will never happen. Apple just improves it product. The only have one phone and it is called the iPhone. So hater who care if you get phone that company will not update the software. Yes riddle with problems that will never be solved until you buy a new phone. You get what you paid for! Ok you buy a phone each year. iPhone purchase their phones every two to three years. It is quality that counts. America need to go back to that! So we can put people back to work!

You better hope that other phones manufacturers like Android keeps making better and better phones. Competition is what forces companies like Apple, HTC and others to keep pushing the envelope of design and function.

I am playing analyst today and I will give you my analysis of this very popular company.

Apple iPad sales will drop off through the rest of this year and the next iPad will not meet other analysts projections, thru the end of next year.
Also some Asian firms will partly or totally server ties with Apple.
New iPhones on the other hand will do well with a cheaper model and a much faster high end model.

It is funny to see the posts by you Luddites whining about how you don't like the newest technology. These posters were likely the last on their block to get a color TV or a watch that didn't have to be wound up to work. I like to be on the cutting edge of technology and an iPhone 4 is much, much more than a telephone. An iPhone is a powerful apple computer in the palm of your hand and it has a great camera and a map/GPS system. Those features have enriched my life over and over. If all you want is an old fashioned telephone, fine. But some of us aren't afraid of the future and we are having far more fun with modern technology than you foot draggers will ever have with your kerosene powered relics. We are smarter and more curious about the world than you Neanderthals will ever be. Keep the over the horizon inventions coming. I'm ready!

Big Deal : Another cell phone. Will Americans ever get over the propaganda of consumerism.I have had the same home phone for years and it still works fine.
P.S. I don't own a cell phone I just feel like the phone companies are ripping of the consumers just like the banks.

Like my new air but I'll never get an iOS limited device again after swooping an atrix 4g. The iOS 5 beta doesn't do much to help.. a bit better though.

They're not. I have Macs, Apple printer, scanners, even floppies from the nineties still alive and kicking (though I don't use them). And a first-gen iPod. And Intel iMac.

I'll be getting my first iPhone this week. Finally.
