Joy Behar's Marriage To Steve Janowitz: 10 Things You Don't Know

What's an appropriate length of time for a couple to be together before they wed? Six months? One year? Five years?

For Joy Behar, co-host of "The View," and host of "The Joy Behar Show" the answer was: 29 years.

In what came as a total shock to fans, Behar wed her very-long-time partner Steve Janowitz in April of this year--only two years after she broke off her engagement to him in 2009 (the pair stayed together despite not marrying at that time).

We asked Behar to kick off our new HuffPost Weddings series: "10 Things You Don't Know About My Marriage." Below, her delightfully cheeky answers:

10. There's still plenty of excitement in our relationship. You should hear me scream when I land a tile on a triple word score.

9. We not only got blood tests, we got colonoscopies.

8. We’re really romantic; we like to sit on the floor naked, eating cannoli, and watching "Hoarders."

7. We like to have sex in different rooms. For example, Steve will be in the bedroom, and I’ll be in Loehmann’s.

6. We've discovered the key to a happy marriage. I'm out of the house 14 hours a day.

5. We like to role play. Last night we were Ron and Nancy Reagan and I made him call me “Mommy.”

4. We have an open marriage. We’re both free to fall asleep on the couch with other people.

3. I only got married because I wanted to do the new season of “Wife Swap” with Gary Busey.

2. We wanted to do it while our grandparents were still alive.

1. I only married Steve because I got tired of waiting for Wolf Blitzer to ask me.

"The Joy Behar Show," which celebrated two years on the air last month, airs Monday through Friday at 10 pm ET on HLN.

Cheers Joy, musch happiness in your relationship. I am happy you married your partner; so you have someone you trust to make decisions for you if for some reason you were incapacitated. Joy is witty as ever. She is my favorite on The View; she makes the show almost bearable. When Joy speaks she doesn't hold back. She is a Progressive and former teacher and sticks up for workers - so was my mom. Her humor is quick and doesn't speak down to the audience or insult them.

people will watch anything.. people will read anything... people suck in making their own decisions... if more people had a life, this show and other low brow shows would be off the air.. but i guess the elderly who have outlived their usefullness have to watch something other than game shows

Nothing's sadder than someone trying to be funny and missing by a mile. Behar's bones as a comedian crumbled once she revealed how shrewish she is in The View. As with Rosie O'Donnell, too much exposure of one's true self is a very bad thing.

I look to plumbers to fix toilets. I look to taxi drivers to deliver me to the right address. I look to comedians for comedy, not for absurdly biased social commentary. Behar has shown her gnarled underbelly, and it ain't pretty. OR funny.

Here's a thought...the reason I have a bias against her is that I don't find her funny. Or insightful. Or civil. Or even bearable. She's the antithesis of everything I value in a commentator or a comedian. There are dozens of people on the air who manage to posit their positions without showing their rosy red patooties. She isn't one of them.

Two years??? Larry King made her, Barbara Walters is the reason she's been on air 2 years. The Behar Show is a daily rerun of the View. She snaps the View guests and airs them nightly on her show. A boring re-run happening, people are finding out that, really, she has NO show, only a warm up of The View.
