SNL's Lil' Poundcake Commercial Takes On HPV Vaccine Controversy (VIDEO)

The HPV vaccine has gotten some bad PR these days thanks to Michele Bachmann and the term "government injection." Plus, it doesn't help that Rick Perry has become its unwitting poster boy.

Enter the latest episode of SNL, which imagines a fictitious attempt to rebrand the much-maligned preventative treatment as something cuddly and sweet for girls. In the first commercial of the night, we meet Lil Poundcake, your daughter's new best friend. Lil Poundcake does everything, including inoculating your little girl when she least expects it. Fighting cervical cancer has never been more fun!

I loved how they called it Li'l Poundcake. I always wondered why parents would pay $100 bucks for a pudgy American Girl doll with cankles.

In my opinion, it was the only truly funny bit in the entire show. I found the rest to only be meh.
