About 880,000,000 people don't have access to clean water. Ed Norton wants to help change that.

Norton has thrown his support behind the "Donate to Drink $2 Million Dollar Challenge" campaign.

When you give to Crowdrise.com/donatetodrink, you'll help Water For People continue to build wells, improve sanitation and provide potable water.

Those who donate to the cause will not only bring clean drinking water to those in need, but can also win a trip to Rwanda and get jewelry made there.

"It's not just a Bandaid or a superficial gesture," Norton said. "This is a real practical solution to solving the world's drinking problems for millions of people."

This guy is RICH. IF he really cared why does he not just donate $2 million himself and get the project rolling? Celebrities begging for $$$ is like Chris Christie begging for a donut.

I always get the feeling that I want to vomit when I get the news that "another" celebrity is going to help take care of the rest of the world! To Hell with the people in their own country! Norton did you know that your own government is whinning about the debt and being so cautious about providing relief funds for its' own citizens of America??? WATER? What about all of those made homeless by the recent floods to places with very familiar names, such as, FLORIDA, NEW JERSEY, NEW ORLEANS, THE CAROLINAS, ETC. Of course I care about the tragedies of other parts of the world, BUT, I also care mostly about our own country and my own people. By the way, there is something called a CONDOM and Birth Control, those pictures of so many children are heartbreaking, BUT, who brought those entities into this screwed up world??? God helps those who help themselves! Why don't you just "give back to all of the people who gave to YOU! Rwanda is a result of The Universal Mind and so is the rest of the world. By giving you celebrities seems to be "giving for attention!" One little note to you:
When Frank Sanatra died, it was soon revealed that he had GIVEN SO MUCH TO SO MANY AND NEVER REVEALED IT DURING HIS LIFETIME!

i am glad some of the celebrities are trying to help others...BUT if they even gave half of the money they have they would help out soo many people!! im sure he' worth millions of dollars...man if he even gave a million dollars im sure he could help tons of people get clean water...its like celebrities want to help...but just enough to promote awareness and donate just alittle.. celebrities need to put their money where their mouth it and instead of just promoting awareness and trying to get average people to donate they should donate big and make a difference...if all the "activist" celebs actually donated millions of dollars then it would make such a difference in the world

I thought they were referring to the Art Carney's sewer worker from 'The Honeymooners'.

Good for you Ed. Perhaps you could also have a word to people of influence to get water hoarding banned in America. T. Boone Pickins has the rights to an aquifer under Texas and will make a profit on selling the water to those in need in drought stricken Texas. http://gigaom.com/cleantech/t-boone-pickens-taps-water-wind-for-land-grab/

It must be made illegal for individuals to own and hoard the resources that the rest of us need to survive. It gives Pickens the right to determine whether some may live or die when the water should be part of the common wealth of all of us.

Would sure appreciate it if you put some attention on this issue right here in the good old USA.
