Sean Parker, a co-founder of Napster and former president of Facebook, joined Twitter on Monday.
His first tweet has already been retweeted more than 100 times. That message:
@ sparker : Sorry Zuck, I had to do it eventually. (Actually @scooterbraun made me do it.)
He's referring to Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, also known as "Zuck." The tweet also mentions talent manager Scott Braun, who welcomed him to Twitter a few hours earlier:
@ scooterbraun : And shoutout to my guy @sparker - one of the great minds of our generation and looking good on the cover of Forbes. Follow him!
Parker's account is already verified by Twitter. He's gained a few thousand followers in the hour since his first tweet and that number is rising quickly.
TechCrunch speculates that Parker may have launched a Twitter account as part of a larger strategy -- or maybe his agent just encouraged him to do so.
Since his time with Napster, Parker has invested in music service Spotify, which he praised when it launched in the United States. Parker was played by Justin Timberlake in the movie The Social Network - a portrayal he said "isn't me."
