Charlotte Gainsbourg At The 'Meloncholia' Premiere: Love It Or Leave It? (PHOTOS)

Golden girl Charlotte Gainsbourg may not own a Birkin bag, but she does own a pair of flashy, embroidered Balenciaga harem pants.

The newlywed actress/director hit the red carpet for the premiere of "Melancholia" on October 3rd during the New York Film Festival. She chose to pair her metallic trousers with a what looks like an over-sized sweatshirt.

She's wearing strappy sandals, but you really wouldn't know considering the hemline of her genie-inspired pants covers them.

Oh well -- at least her outfit wasn't totally sheer this time.

A couple things wrong with her outfit. First one is that a SMILE would make this look so much better, and the pants are way too long. Might as well go barefoot instead of wearing strappy sandals, as no one can see them. Or maybe the heel needs to be higher. Never could understand why people want to walk on the bottoms of their pants? All it does is portray a sense of sloppiness and that the wrong size pants were purchased.

It looks okay on her not the best outfit though. She could have used a slim fitting top and black pumps. I see that she's trying to look edgy.

Saw this movie Melancholia and I can't believe how much older she looks in this film. Such a strange movie, I can't believe I bothered watching it at all.
