ESPN The Magazine's 2011 "Body Issue," in which several athletes strip down and pose nude or semi-nude, comes out on Friday and the cover images have been released. ESPN announced last week that women's soccer star Hope Solo, Rams running back Steven Jackson and NBA phenom Blake Griffin would be among the athletes to pose. Solo, Griffin, snowboarder Gretchen Bleiler, Mets shortstop Jose Reyes and star goalkeeper Tim Howard were chosen to grace the covers of the 2011 issue.

There is no machine made that is as beautriful as the human body when it is toned to perfection. A lot of work, sacrifice, and commitment goes into looking like this. I'm really not a person that thinks snow boarding is a sport but that kid definately puts in the work. I can appreciate that effort.

If you have "body issues" or an issue with looking at naked athletes ... then why even look at this article?

The photo on the outside page is kind of scary. Maybe it's just me, but if they are photos in weird positions like that, I just don't find them sexy.

Now I know another reason why God didn't let the U.S. soccer team win despite their huge overdog status. God knows past, present, and future perfectly. Plus, if you go naked in public you may become a tree in your next life. Dr. Hans

And that is why being human is great, because all of that potential rests within us.

These photos are a wonderful throw back to the Greek model.
