After previously declaring that Mitt Romney wants to be President so bad, "Al Gore can taste it," Jon Stewart devoted a part of his Tuesday night show to mocking the GOP candidate for flip-flopping on his positions as the 2012 race heats up.
At first, Stewart did kind of feel for Romney, who has been running for President since 2007. He should be the frontrunner (he's Governor of the state the original Tea Party was founded in, for crying out loud) yet the GOP appears to be looking "under every available flag pin and bible" for an out-of-the-box, dare we say rogue candidate. But Stewart's sympathy ended once he started showing clips of Romney, first during his campaigns for Governor of Massachusetts and the Senate, and then from his recent Presidential campaign.
Perhaps the biggest indicator that Romney is trying not to appear as a moderate was a clip from his interview with Mike Huckabee on Fox News this past Sunday where he talks about reversing Roe vs. Wade and says he is pro-life.
"Yeah I'm pro-life as in, 'I lied before, that's life!'" Stewart mocked.
Watch the full segment below to hear Stewart show how Romney is disavowing his positions left and right, including his stance on corporate tax loopholes that sounds oddly close to someone else's who you might not expect.
