LOS ANGELES -- Firefighters who allowed porn producers to use Los Angeles fire trucks in sex films won't face discipline.

Fire Chief Brian Cummings, who ordered an investigation after the TV report, wrote to Councilman Dennis Zine saying the two incidents occurred on or before 2008 and the charter prevented him from taking action.

One incident involved Firehouse 63 in Venice. The fire truck was used for a film starring adult actress Charley Chase, who is shown climbing on the vehicle.

The other film involved Firehouse 41 in Hollywood.

___

NBC4 Los Angeles investigated the scandal when the porn film first cropped up. WATCH:

In such tight financial times, the fire department just thought they should take advantage of every opportunity to increase funds. :)

I don't minimize the risks that firefighters take when needed. But c'mon, we all know how it goes. Have firefighter friends who get hefty wages for "hanging around the firehouse," sleeping, watching tv etc..just "in case" they get a call. So much that all of them are rested enough to take on a second or third job. I'm sure there's a lot more goin on at the firehouse than porn in the trucks....But Ok, everyone turn your heads...no consequences. Don't be surprised if someone ever does a FULL UNBIASED investigation...These guys n gals got a good gig goin on.....who's gonna voluntarily give all this up?

Hmmm........so now citizen taxpayers are unknowningly contributed to porn movie makers?

It's a shame with so many people needing and wanting jobs that anyone would disrespect a fine career by allowing this to take place. They have no self respect.

There's plenty of positions open for porn stars. Firefighters are few. pun intended

When you're labor Union puppets, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING AND NOT GET FIRED.

Well dang. I've been a firefighter for 25 years and not a single porn star has ever....aw....never mind. I have a bad knee anyways.

At least it was only the truck... could of been worse. No harm done by firefighters. If they declined the offer the producer would just look for another firetruck.

I can't believe they aren't at least suspended. Just the fact that city owned property, paid for by tax payers, is used in any way in a porn movie is unacceptable........

Letting a fire truck be involved in a porn film is just distasteful. Regardless of where it was parked, it wasn't in the firehouse where it belonged while waiting for an emergency. However the fire truck was paid for by the tax payer, I guess they wanted their fair share.

I live in an area of LA that has 3 firestations within a 3 mile radius and I am hearing sirens 24/7....when I compare the number of sirens to the police blotter, it doesn't make sense....I decided to follow the next one I could, and big surprise, they raced down Ventura Blvd, sirens blaring, turned onto Radford and turned off the sirens and drove home, from the CBS ;main gate.....I think firefighters are scamming the system but there are not that many fires, accidents, heart attacks, etc to balnance out the large numbers of calls, sirens, etc....Strange..

I live in small town midwest, the cops do it all the time here. Sirens and lights on to get through a red light, forcing motorists to pull to the side for them. I still don't get the need for the ladder truck to show up for a medical emergency call. Ironically the town I live in builds fire trucks. They test the sirens and such out in the country.

T-n-A. It all about the t-n-a.

Is this what taxpayers' money is being used for? They SHOULD be punished. That fire truck was purchased with taxpayer dollars and the firemen have no business allowing it to be used for anything other than its purpose -- to be used to put out fires.

Gives a whole new meaning of getting 'hosed', don't it.

Considering the comments made by some of the "SuperUsers," (specifically "HorsemanM1", "OkeyUmez," and especially "Warren Garrison"), I'm beginning to think that HuffPo needs to rethink how the "SuperUser" designation is awarded.
