Republican Presidential Candidates, Obama & Biden React To Booing Of Gay Soldier (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

At the Fox News/Google GOP presidential debate held on September 22, members of the audience booed after an openly gay soldier serving in Iraq presented a question via video about the recently-repealed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

The incident sparked a media frenzy: Why would audience members at a presidential debate boo an active serviceperson? Were they booing his sexual orientation, or the repeal of a ban that prohibited gay individuals from serving openly in the military? And perhaps most pointedly, why didn't any of the candidates on the stage react, or speak up at the time?

In the weeks following the debate, many of the better-known contenders vying for the Republican presidential nomination have weighed in on the matter. President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden have also sounded off.
