Jennifer Hudson Blows Off Michael Jackson Tribute Concert, Citing 'Production Issues'

A plethora of stars came out to honor Michael Jackson at a tribute concert in Wales on Saturday night, but a last minute pull out dimmed the ticket in Cardiff considerably.

Hours before the show, Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson announced that she would not be performing, tweeting, "To my uk fans that were coming to the mj show in wales. I will no longer be attentding [sic] due to major production issues."

Following a surprised reaction from fans, the "Dreamgirls" star followed up, writing, "I would have thought they would have informed you all by now , so since they did not , I am. Thank u for your support."

According to TMZ, Hudson was upset that she was not given enough time with the music she had agreed to sing. TMZ also reports that Hudson was paid in full ahead of time, which may cause legal problems.

Chris Brown and the Black Eyed Peas were also no-shows; Brown was reportedly denied a visa to enter the United Kingdomd due to his criminal record, while the Black Eyed Peas pulled out earlier in the week amidst speculation that they were breaking up.

Still, concertgoers were treated to performances by artists such as Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Gladys Knight, Beyonce (via satellite) and three generations of the Jackson family, including appearances by the late superstar's three children.

I'm no celeb but I would've been there. I don't need a visa, already in UK, train tickets and 'i'll be there' and would've sung' 'the way you make me feel'. It would have bombed out da place.

I'm hoping that there was an underlying problem other than an ego issue. I'm a fan of hers, and would hate to see that. I know that she's had to endure a lot of pain and issues in her life, and would hope that she knows better than that. We have not heard her full side of the story, so we shouldn't start to judge her for this. If you notice the story mentions the BEP and Chris Brown didn't show either (Chris Brown because of visa issues, and BEP because of breakup rumors). And like so many have mentioned, where was Diana Ross??

Diana Ross is staying away because of what Michael wanted for his children and it sure wasn't the spot light. He protected them all his life and now the Jackson's are just trying to profit while they can... one day... Diana will tell the children the truth about their Father and how much he loved them.
I commend her for honoring Michael wishes... too bad she didnt't get custody.. IMO

I guess Jennifer never heard of "the show must go on". She also almost blew off her appearance on Oprah to sing at some party in Texas during a snow storm in Chicago. She didn't inform the producers of the show that she was leaving town. smh

Hey Vivicca...you're on to her it sounds. She is building a reputation of not appearing or declining offers to big events. She should begin remembering where she was not to long ago. It doesn't take much to return to where you have forgotten you're from.

Thanks Jackt68! As a performer, unless you have to be taken away by ambulance, the show must go on. People paid their hard earned money to attend the show to see her perform and it shows a lack of professionalism on her part. I hope they charge her interest in the money she took for her performance. Jennifer better watch out 'cause the same people you meet on your climb to the top will be the same people she'll meet on her way down and it might not be a pleasant trip on her way to the bottom.

Hey Starrtime9...I really don't think she changed, but showing the person she really is. I think that's what Simon Cowell knew and didn't want her around. I personally think she is a not so nice person.

It seems that there were other artists that weren't there as well that would seem to say that there was a problem. Sometimes people dont elaborate due to contract issues but there was a reason for her not to be there....... It is easy to judge when one does not have all of the facts.

I am happy that she took off the weight that was making her sick and she is happy with herself.... That being said it is so easy to criticize people... most of the people that are shedding tears for MJ are the same people that were condeming him up to 3 seconds after his death.... Bunch of haters and hypocrites... smdh

Because she pulled this exact same thing on Oprah Winfrey for her finale season. They had a whole show planned with Jennifer. Flew her to Chicago, put her up in a hotel and she jetted it to Texas and missed the Oprah show. Oprah was livid.

Hey Westreal...and it isn't the first time Hudson has pulled this stunt. She should be careful because hollywood can be nasty and snuff her career. She could find herself singing in bars in Las Vegas or chicago if she's not careful.
