Paul McCartney Announces Tour: 'On The Run' To Hit 11 Cities

Paul Mccartney Wedding

This is just about the coolest honeymoon of all time.

Sir Paul McCartney, the former Beatle with an infinite motor, announced on Monday that he is headed on an 11-date world tour. The announcement comes just a day after he tied the knot for the third time, marrying American heiress and businesswoman Nancy Shevell in London.

The tour, dubbed the "On The Run" tour, a clear homage to his famed "Band on the Run" period in the 70s, will start in Abu Dhabi and move on to Paris, Russia, Italy and London, finish in his hometown of Liverpool.

"My audiences seem to get better each year and the band and I love the buzz and feedback that they give us," he said in the statement. "I can't wait to see you all for some wild nights of rock n' roll and partying."

Yes, plenty of people have. It's no big deal. Lennon isn't using it anymore.

Yes, certainly almost every Beatle fan in the world.

I don't watch 'The View' but it was reported that Paul made a toast to John at the Wedding Reception.
I'm don't doubt the gathered Beatle family exchanged their own private thoughts too.

Love him, but that hair can't possibly be his. No matter. Enjoy him while we can. Hair today, gone tomorrow. Some day, it will all be Yesterday.

Of course not.

But rather that positive seeking, there's always some low esteem/attention seekers.
With personal grievances of whatever basis, who choose to do 'spoilage'.

So go to the top of the hill.

When I'm 69....

There's something really wonderful about seeing Paul McCartney at his age looking so happy. I mean, we're talking about Paul McCartney. There's absolutely no way to even begin to quantify how much happiness and hope The Beatles have given me. Talking about The Beatles is sort of like talking about Shakespeare.

Anyone who has ever trouped rock n roll knows it is a lot of things. Exhilarating, maddening, joyous, frightening, rewarding, and soul crushing. It is NOT however a honeymoon nor should the attempt be made to conduct a honeymoon on a tour, I don't care WHO you are. What this is, I submit, is a quick bop around the continent with a playlist of songs, timeworn and familiar, winding up on home turf with the lovely new bride making her first "tour" as the misses. All well and good.
But if you are Paul McCartney, a honeymoon is Tangiers, Mozambique or Katmandu. Not singing Yesterday.

Who are you to say what a Paul McCartney honeymoon should be?

Paul and Nancy have already vacationed all across the globe.
Some known places but likely others most of us could but dream of.
She's been on 'tours' too. South America and other locations, I believe.

Coming up, Abu Dhabi, Paris, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Germany...Russia.
Just a few stops over many weeks. The schedule has space. Suitable for whatever additional activities they wish. Not a typical tour at all.

Paul is a Prince of the world. Treated with the highest respect everywhere.
His accommodations certainly fit for royalty. Full comfort away from the stage.
The events themselves. He doesn't work, he plays. Everyone enjoys.

Again, whose to say how he should conduct his life, business and love?

Mistakenly 'Marked as Favorite'.

Apollo, WELL SAID!

Who am I? Good question. I am one of a team of very talented individuals who made sure WINGS ACROSS AMERICA made it across America in the mid 70s, probably before you were born. I have also trouped George Harrison's DARK HORSE tour as well as Jethro Tull, the Rolling Stones and dozens of others. My comment was directed at touring a full rock n roll show not Mr. and Mrs. McCartney per se, and while I appreciate your fervid defense of your idol, you have substantiated my point with your "not a typical tour at all" line. As someone who has lived very well thanks to the largess of the music industry provided by "fans" like yourself I do appreciate your point of view, albeit one that was misinterpreted. Should you be truly interested in rock n roll, the business, might I recommend "Bill Graham Presents" by Robt. Greenfield or "Shakey The Biography of Neil Young" by Jimmy McDonough. Oh, and contrary to your world of magical thinking, it is work. It is HARD work and Sir Paul earns every cent each time he steps on a stage.

I think a lot of people don't realize how hard it is. And of course he has a retinue of people supporting him (and he's paying their salaries and keeping a roof above their heads). But my point is, it must be tremendously challenging -- especially at 70 -- to get up on stage for nearly 3 hours a night like he does, when he's the lead singer on every song and playing an instrument on every song.

Does he do it for the money? Probably. Like I said, he employs a lot of people, too. But I think the only reason he truly must do it is because he loves performance. And he is terrific at it -- much better than Lennon and miles better than George Harrison, whose one and only tour was disastrous in 1974.

I respect the fact that Paul, all these years later, still gets out there and gives it his all every night.
