Occupy Wall Street Protests Outside Rupert Murdoch House (AUDIO)

First Posted: 10/11/11 03:20 PM ET Updated: 12/11/11 05:12 AM ET

Members of the Occupy Wall Street movement protested in front of Rupert Murdoch's Manhattan home on Tuesday.

The movement had signaled it would target Murdoch as part of a "Millionaire's March." (Murdoch is, of course, no mere millionaire.) A crowd gathered at his 59th St. home on early Tuesday afternoon and chanted "enough is enough!" and "Mr. Murdoch, pay your fair share!" Audio posted to the site Audioboo captures an unidentified woman saying that the "99 percent" are giving Murdoch a tax break.

The protest then moved on to other hugely wealthy New Yorkers, including Jamie Dimon and David Koch.

Murdoch is just one example of the corruption of money and the media and politics. Thank you occupy wall street! Let us prove the supreme court is wrong and get the big money out of politics and no more unlimited secret contributions to these pac laden side political groups.

its my understanding that george soros' place was bypassed. Why? He's made enought $$$ to certainly quality in the upper 0.5%!!!

Another concern is that even the movement is expanding geographically----didnt Lesley Stahl or someone say we're in >200 cities (Occupy Tampa has essentially fizzled out & we need to reinvigorate it)---but we seem to be losing numbers. Its time we take a lesson from history.

I know we want to believe the solution is nonviolent movement. But look at two examples: the French Revolution, and Ghandi's Indian Revolution.

Ghandhi today is a tumor that the ruling class is using constantly to mislead us. The French Revolution made a fundamental transformation---But it WAS bloody.

Subsequent to Ghandi India now has 600 million people living in MAXIMUM poverty.

So, ultimately, the bourgeoisie won’t go without violent means. We must have a revolution that is led by the working class---and this what the Weathermen were advocating years ago!!!.

Is that what you are saying.

Anyone with more than one brain cell connected those dots 15 years ago.

Those who are just figuring it out now might as well stay out of the debate entirely; they're just a drag on those who've known these things all along.

It's not that Murdoch is a millionaire, but the means by which he became so. His news networks and papers have skewed information, put pressure on other outlets to ignore facts-data-evidence, thwart investigations, and to put forth "talking points" from those whose ideologies Murdoch espouses.

Anyone who creates a business, works hard, is just-honest and is successful deserves whatever rewards they earn. They hold themselves personally accountable and are financially-legally responsible for things that go awry. Far too many have engaged in abusive, predatory, unethical and illegal practices in efforts to gain wealth, then elude-evade accountability, so they reap rewards while escaping the consequences of their wrong-doing. How could Murdoch authorize millions in payments to law officials and those "investigators" not knowing they were engaged in illegal practices? So, too, the Wall St. barons, who were reckless, speculated wildly (to the point of over leveraging their firms to the brink of insolvency) be allowed to continue working, and worse, be allowed to use taxpayer's money to reward themselves (posh junkets, obscene bonuses) for abject failure is beyond reason.

We are witnessing the unchecked infiltration of our educational system by left wing liberals that has creeped in over the last few decades. It is not surprising that they have spawned a generation of clueless malcontents. They are patently uneducated about our system of government and generally ignorant of political theory and economics. Instead of American civics, they've been fed a steady diet of liberal Kool-Aid that has resulted in a well-formed leftist belief system culminating in the sad collection of neer-do-wells "protesting" in the streets today.

Is that so? You care to elaborate? Because I'd love to see where your version of government doesn't hold the right to protest a wrong and where in your version of this government, the elite few have the right to put a stranglehold on the welfare of the nation for their own benefit.

I've spoken with these people on numerous occasions and they are the some of the most ignorant people I've ever met regarding politics, history and current affairs.

Not one of them was aware that 51% of the taxable population actually pays no federal income tax as result of earned income credits. One fellow confused Kennedy with Roosevelt. Another confused the revolutionary war with the civil war. They were all promoters of the arbitrary fair-share and living-wage fallacies.

Sorry Cad man--you are wrong. Inculcating the last generation and 1/2 with liberal BS has ruined American ingenuity and ability to survive. We now have a whiney whiney generation zero being surpassed by Hispanic hard workers and every asian and Indian school system child that comes to USA for medical or technical jobs.

They are a pure product of liberal political correctness from K thru 12 and again in colleges and universities. USA is done done done ---when we are all living 3 household to a hut on dirtfloors you will completely understand Mr cad.

If I were Murdoch I would pay for port-o-lets, many por-o-lets, be brought in so the protesters at least have a proper place to go to the bathroom. That would show that not all big money investors are heartless money grubbers. And it would solve a major complaint by people who do not support the protest.

It is not Murdochs fault that he makes so much money. If he buys a few million dollars of any stock the stock values automatically goes up and he makes money. You have to have money to make money, and he has money!

Yeah, liberals REALLY occupy Wall Street...unless you're George Soros, George Kaiser, Philip Falcone, Arthur Sulzberger, Paul Krugman, Jeffrey Immelt. Then the Democrats will leave you alone.
