Top 13 Government Agencies For Telecommuting

The battle between the public and private sectors to attract top talent often boils down to workplace intangibles such as work/life balance. And few efforts to improve that balance have attracted more attention within the federal government than telework.

Giving federal employees the option to skip the commute and work from home isn't just an act of good will to attract and retain employees. It also boils down to smart economics. The General Services Administration estimates that if federal workers telecommuted at least one day per week, federal agencies could increase productivity by more than $2.3 billion annually.

Check out the top government agencies for telecommuting in and around the Washington, D.C., region, according to a 2011 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. Read the full story on AOL Government.

No one in public service should be allowed to work from home, not ever.
We are having a hard enough time squeezing productivity out of them as it is!!
And we also need to stop providing public sector employees with vehicles as well.
they can be paid mileage like the rest of us, and if the cost outweighs that of a vehicle, then there should be residency restrictions for the positions held.
If you want to get rich, and have above average perks, go work in the private sector.
