Betty White Is 'Still Hot': Actress Raps With Luciana For Charity (VIDEO)

Is there anything Betty White can’t do? She’s taken Facebook and SNL by storm with her "tremendous muffin" and set off the “Betty White effect.”

Now, this Golden Girl proves why she’s still hot at 89. In this rap video, a duet with British singer Luciana, White drops beats, shimmies, and boasts about her, er, cherry cheesecake, all to benefit The Lifeline Program and the Los Angeles Zoo. A woman who raps, bakes, and raises money for causes she believes in? Now that is hot.

I love Betty White but I hate this ad for a viatical company. These are the companies that rip you off by buying insurance policies for a fraction of the value and gambling that you will die soon. Betty should get out of her involvment with this company. This video is just a commercial..cheap commercial at that. As for the proceeds going to the LA Zoo, they have not released the percentage and I bet it will be small.

Betty White seems like a wonderful person. That said, I believe she is way past her sell by date. And she seems to be used as the token Be Nice To An Old Person. She is often used in films or sitcoms given lines that are more embarrassing for someone her age than actually funny. Yet people laugh probably because she is an icon, is endearing, and, well, it is kind. It's much like a young toddler who stumbles through Mary Had A Little Lamb at a family get together. Lots of adulation from the audience, not because the kid did anything talented, but because, like a puppy, the kid is adorable. White is essentially the same thing except with wrinkles. I like her but her glory days of the Golden Girls or The Mary Tyler Moore Show are in the past.

She successfully manages her image to maintain her ability to generate income (both directly and indirectly through image licensing).

That's pretty hard to do....I'd say she is still well within her sell by date.

I didn't say she was not successful. However, in contrast when she was in her prime, she is trading on a sad image of an old lady trying to be young or with it. And I don't mean through plastic surgery, thank God for that. She does it as a randy old lady whose suggestive remarks are thought to "cute" and "funny". They're not. She is much like Lucille Ball who tried like hell not to retire with grace. She made the awful "Mame" in which she croaked the songs and the lenses were filled with vasoline and her face pulled back by tape so bad she could hardly emote. The film was trashed by the critics and certainly not a befitting way for such a respected icon to end her career. While Betty may not be quite so bad, I have to say, with some far and few between exceptions, I cringe when I watch her trying to be more with it or saying lines that belong to a much younger person. But, hey, she is making money and she does love animals as I do, so more power to her, I guess. I just don't want to be one of those who laugh pretending she is hilarious. At one time she was.

If you read my comment, you would know I admire Betty White. However, she is not the gifted comedienne she once was. She gets laughs by reading lines that have her ogling young guys (see her latest movie as an example) that really is beneath her. I admire her commitment to animals but she is trading on her past to make money now. There is nothing wrong with that but it is demeaning. I picked up her latest book and couldn't finish it. It was saccharine and not particularly well written. So, indeed, she is past her sell by date resulting in her making ludicrous and not particularly intelligent funny lines. It's just that the public is willing to pay her to do it and she complies. That is kinda sad. Take Doris Day. She could do the same but has chosen a more dignified way to spend the final moments of her last act.
