Denver Democratic National Convention Mass Arrest Suit Settled With ACLU

DENVER -- The American Civil Liberties Union and the city of Denver of have reached a $200,000 settlement in a lawsuit filed after the largest mass arrest during the 2008 Democratic National Convention.

Senior U.S. District Judge Richard Matsch approved the deal Wednesday, ending a suit brought by people who said they were wrongly arrested at a protest during the convention.

Most of the $200,000 settlement will go to the lawsuit's original eight plaintiffs, with $20 each going to the rest. The agreement also requires additional police training.WATCH The Daily Show's satire of Colorado beer commercials during the Denver Democratic Convention:
