In the Pantry Challenge video series, Lauren Braun Costello, a chef, author and food stylist, shows busy moms how to make tasty, healthy meals using ingredients (in this case, cumin) they already have in their pantry, solving their unique cooking challenges.

In this video, Lauren shows Peggy S., a mother of four and registered nurse, how to make better use of some of those spices in her cabinet that she rarely touches. Lauren demonstrates how to use spices to season a skirt steak -- an affordable cut of meat which easily takes on a variety of flavors -- before cooking it on the grill. She creates a marinade out of vegetable oil, brown sugar, chopped garlic, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, cumin, chile powder, ground coriander and kosher salt, and rubs it thoroughly into the steak. In the end, Peggy and her family enjoy a juicy, flavorful steak dinner.
