Anita Perry, Rick Perry's Wife, Blames Obama Administration For Son Losing Job

Anita Perry Rick Perry Son Job

Anita Perry, the wife of Texas Gov. Rick Perry, said she sympathized with the unemployed Friday because her son resigned from his job at Deutsche Bank to campaign for his father, reports CNN.

"He resigned his job two weeks ago because he can't go out and campaign with his father because of SEC regulations," she said at a Pendleton, S.C. diner, in response to a middle-aged voter who lost his six-figure job and now works as a handyman. "My son lost his job because of this administration," she added. CNN reports that the SEC recently adopted stricter rules for investment advisers undertaking political activity.

However, Thursday she said that he eagerly resigned. She recalled when her husband brought the family together to discuss his run for president last May. "So, our son Griffin Perry is 28. He loves politics, and he just couldn't wait. He said, 'Dad, I'm in! I'm in! I'll do whatever you need me to do. I'll resign my job. I'll do what you need me to do,'" she said in a speech at North Greenville University.

ABC News reported that the 28-year old recently quit his job to start an independent consulting firm and to focus on campaigning for his father. He lives in Dallas with his wife, who works as an attorney.

Anita Perry has been campaigning for her husband in South Carolina this week. She spoke Thursday about how opponents had "brutalized" the campaign. "We are being brutalized by our opponents, and our own party," she said. "So much of that is, I think they look at him, because of his faith," she added, possibly referring to questions in recent days over Rev. Robert Jeffress, who endorsed Perry and has called Mormonism "a cult." She also compared his decision to run for president to Biblical stories of Moses and Gideon.

Rick Perry responded to her comments, saying he stood by her. "You know, family members always take these campaigns more substantially personal than the candidate," he said Friday morning on CNN.

Perry gave a speech Friday morning on how he could create jobs as president. He said, "When it comes to energy, the president would kill domestic jobs through aggressive regulations while I would unleash 1.2 million American jobs through safe-and-aggressive energy exploration at home."

Anita Perry is emblematic of so many of my fellow Texas women, who profess to be Christians. They look nice, they talk softly, their makeup is perfectly done and yet their politics and actions toward others are ugly. Contrary to what we are instructed to do in the Ten Commandments, Anita Perry is lying. It is NOT the President's fault that her son has to follow SEC rules. It's the law. It is NOT the case that her son lost his job. He resigned. And since his wife is an attorney, I'm guessing they won't starve or lose their home. And I do not believe that Gov. Perry has been brutalized in any way, and certainly not for his faith. I mean, after all, is there a huge demand for atheists to run for President? I think not. To the extent that he was suffered criticism, it is for HIS criticism of Gov. Romney's faith, through a surrogate. Pot calling kettle black.

If Anita Perry wants to demonstrate her Christian faith, she should 1) tell the truth 2) demonstrate her understanding and empathy for people who have actually lost their jobs and 3) she might even consider showing some compassion for people who've taken far more abuse, for far longer than she or her husband. For example, President Obama. Now, Gov. Perry confabs with Donald Trump--a political sage if ever there was one--to dredge up the birther dreck. How very Christian. I say again: Thou shalt not lie.

I agree with you ALMOST completely. My only reservation is the implication that doing right -- truth-telling, empathy, understanding -- are Christian-only virtues. I'm nearer to an atheist than anything else, yet I strongly believe in and practice those same virtues. I've no doubt that many believers do too.

I have benn waiting now for 5 days for Mrs Perry to aplogize for the LIE she told about our President, Since she lables herself as a Christian, I remind her of the 10 Commandments and in particular the one that goes, "Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor"...Mrs Perry, we are waiting.
But more disturbing is her comments about how the Almighty told her to tell Rick to run for President.
Mrs Perry, I believe that this too is another lie but I cannot prove it, but I recall this comment though:

I distrust those people who know so well what G-d wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires
Susan B Anthony

Mrs Perry, you believe yourself to be a Good Christian, you have already been proven to be a liar, perhaps it would be a good time to come clear don't you think?

Resigned. Not lost his job. Resigned... there's a difference. And since nepotism was really the reason he got that job its not really some tragic event. Boo hoo. Obama will now be blamed for all the skin cancer that was diagnosed in Texas since 2009 is the next headline I fear.

Interesting isn't it that Anita failed to mention that her son got his job because his father is the governor of Texas. So I'm sure to her that it only seemed natural that if he got the job because of politics he must have lost it the same way. However, Anita failed to acknowledge that he QUIT of his own accord and wasn't fired.

Comments like hers are the reasons why Texas needs to put more emphasis on education.

Too bad her husband fired 40,000 teachers.

Anita Perry appears to be a self-involved, self-pitying person whose relationship with the truth is a bit glancing. Lady, count your blessings that your son had a job to walk away from. Millions of other people do not have that luxury.
09:16 PM on 10/17/2011
Why is she suggesting that his faith isn't strong enough to see her husband through the campaign?

I knew President Obama passed those regulations just so he could force Griffin Perry to resign from his job at the Deutsche Bank so he could start up his own consulting firm and campaign for his father. More job killing regulations, right? Shame on you President Obama, enacting a SEC regulation that forces everybody who's father is going to run for office to resign from their post if they want to campaign for them, even if they were already going to resign to start their own consulting firm. Shame. Is there a website where we can make donations to help poor Griffin get on his feet?

LOL. Maybe we can start a telethon for him.

Ooh, Herman Cain can sing, and I bet if you hurry, Huckabee and his guitar might be available.

I wonder if Obama did this after he found out that Griffin Perry was hired specifically because his father was the governor? It would seem so unfair that after using those political ties to get a good paying job you had it pulled right out from under you just because the President had the power to do it. But he really needn't worry - once Rick pulls out of the race he'll probably be able to get his old job back.
08:40 PM on 10/17/2011
Wait, he eagerly resigned, but it's the administrations fault? I'm confused. Oh Anita Perry said it, now I get it. Never mind.
09:20 PM on 10/17/2011
It is merely a sign of how desperate they are to get their campaign taken seriously. Better get out your Book of Mormon unless you plan to pay more taxes with the 9-9-9 plan.

I appears that when it comes to intelligence Mrs. Perry "married up".

Who would have thought that possible.
