In his series Marcus' Kitchen, chef Marcus Samuelsson shares dozens of recipes that prove "American" cuisine is really a delicious melting pot that draws upon flavors from all over the world.
In this video, Marcus seasons sautéed shrimp with fiery chili powder and jalapeño peppers, but balances their heat with a tart yogurt sauce. The shrimp and yogurt mixture is given a crispy crunch with shredded romaine lettuce, and then Marcus stuffs the whole shrimp salad into toasted pita pockets -- a perfect lunch or light dinner.
