A helmet is a very important safety device. You hear "good thing I was wearing a helmet" much more than you hear "I don't think a helmet would have helped him". And even if there are accidents that even a helmet can't protect protect you in, it's best to have for those times that it will help. Have you ever heard of someone being injured because they were wearing a helmet? No.
