There may be no end in sight for the NBA lockout, but fans watching Rajon Rondo in action on Tuesday night probably will tell you that the Celtics' All-Star point guard is in midseason form.
While playing with the State Farm Big Blue All-Stars against Union College, Rondo displayed the sort of court vision that led SB Nation to once describe him as having eyes on the back, sides and top of his head.
Dribbling on the wing, well the beyond the three-point line, Rondo appeared to be casually pounding the ball back up toward the top of the arc. He had his back to the basket and a defender on his hip. But he caught everyone -- except for a teammate -- by surprise when he threw the ball directly over his head to Denver Nuggets 2011 first-round draft pick Kenneth Faried for the best alley-oop you'll probably see this year, NBA season or not.
The play seemed completely plausible in a video game such as NBA Jam, but during the flow of an ordinary exhibition? Not so much.
