Women may have fought long and hard for equality, but now hotels are returning to another era by offering floors exclusively for female guests, reports MSNBC.
With the service first appearing in New York, Singapore, Copenhagen, Vancouver and Washington, the fee ranges from $30 to $50, notes TIME.
Hotel Bella Sky Comwell in Copenhagen first introduced the offering in May after surveying influential and well-traveled Danish women who said they'd select a female only floor upgrade for extra security, hygiene and the extra amenities tailored to women.
For a mere $55 upgrade, the rooms are fitted with flat irons, bath salts, extra hangers and even a larger shower head.
And, of course, for those female business travelers, there's also the added bonus of not having to run into male coworkers in your bathrobe when you grab the morning paper.
Though the Bella Sky Comwell claims it was the first of its kind in Europe, the London Hilton Park Lane reportedly first introduced the service back in 2003, but ditched it after little uptake, reports Buying Business Travel.
In March, the Portal Hotel in Brisbane, Australia, became the first in the country to offer the female-only floor service, which includes women only staff, notes The Independent.
