CNBC's Melissa Francis To Joe Scarborough: 'You Are The Problem.' Are Fueling Occupy Wall Street (VIDEO)

Joe Scarborough

CNBC's Melissa Francis had enough of Joe Scarborough's derision of Occupy Wall Street, and alleged that his dismissive comments were worsening the situation on Monday's "Morning Joe."

Scarborough began the segment with Francis, who was down at the New York Stock Exchange shortly before the opening bell, in a mocking tone. He noted that Francis "has yet to be dragged into the streets kicking and screaming." Francis said that Occupy Wall Street was impossible to ignore, between "a maze of fences" and "security everywhere" around the stock exchange, and the protests in Europe.

“Are people nervous down there?” Scarborough wanted to know. “When they are holding their martinis — are their top hats and their monocles, does ascot askew? How nervous are they down there?”

“See, it’s sarcasm like this that is fueling this rally right now," Francis told him, pointing her finger accusingly at Scarborough much to co-host Mika Brzezinski's approval. Brzezinski nodded and thanked Francis, who continued, "You are the problem, Joe. You are. It’s comments like that that is making this whole thing a whole lot worse. We have respected it from the beginning, I tell you. The place is in lockdown outside. I don’t know if you’ve been down here, if you deign to come down to our neck of the woods."

Francis made fun of him for staying in his "ivory tower studio" and hiding his own martinis "in a coffee cup so nobody knows what you're really drinking."

Unshaken by her criticism, Scarborough continued, “So what you’re telling me is, I think when they get nervous, they're having to burn a lot $100 bills. Is that what you’re telling me?”

“I got nothing. I don’t know what to tell you. You’re the one that makes the big bucks,” Francis answered. Her ribbing even prompted Scarborough to declare that he would "maybe" head down to the protests the next day.

Oh why does anyone watch MSNBC anymore? This propaganda machine for Obama and the socialist unions is nothing more than a third world broadcasting co. that spews the mantra of Karl Marx and the attributes of dismanteling the capitalist free market system. They have been covering the Obamanistas that have been called out to conduct class warfare and have reinforced the Obama calll to embrace the demonstrations filled with anarchist; socialist; communist and anything else that lives under rocks. Boycott NSNBC and put them on the streets as jobless socialist

An Alternative to Capitalism (if the people knew about it, they would demand it)

Several decades ago, Margaret Thatcher claimed: "There is no alternative". She was referring to capitalism. Today, this negative attitude still persists.

I would like to offer an alternative to capitalism for the American people to consider. Please click on the following link. It will take you to an essay titled: "Home of the Brave?" which was published by the Athenaeum Library of Philosophy:

Calling it something other than socialism doesn't suddenly make it something else. I read the whole essay, sounds like Star Trek. It has little bearing on reality. You are still left with the traditional problems of consumers, creators, and varying degrees of individual virtue, including those who seek to rule, and those who seek to be left alone.

Scarborough has a prosperous future......over at Fox news where he belongs. Lawrence O'Donnell should replace Joe on MSNBC.

He's definitely a 1%er all the way.

"Joe" wouldn't lower himself to talk to regular people. He's a 1%er all the way. Needs to go to Faux Noise. No idea why he fouls MSNBC

So this is the new one who replaced the other Wall Street pretty girl?

I have a novel suggestion for the ladies, hell the entire CNBC network. Why don't you do investigative reporting, uncovering unethical and illegal Wall Street schemes? Then for once and all, we will know you aren't in bed (figuratively) with the people you are supposed to be watching.

Joe is the bloated castrato cheerleader for what HE terms as the main stream of the GOP, but his continued chauvinistic treatment of Mika as well as the embarrassing colloquy he had with Melissa Francis shows that the only reason he's kept on by MSNBC is that he may have photos of Phil - what's his name - and a goat. Keep on bullying everyone Joe................memories don't fade and the wheel WILL turn.

Wow. Sit down in the corner, Joe. Melissa just kicked your b**t. Who'da thunk it? I thought Melissa Francis was a corporate cheerleader through and through but at least she's finally seeing sense. Good stuff, Melissa.

That is exactly right, these pundits are living in Ivory Towers, the evidence to back this assertion is the fact that they are absolutely defunct on any contextual analysis of the OWS movement. They have spent an inordinate amount of precious time harping on the deficit and debt ceiling instead of screaming about the JOBS crisis. Instead of praising austerity, they should have been yelling about how all this government squeezing only contributes to unemployment and misery because the private sector is too weak due to lack of demand because of high unemployment. I mean this isn't rocket science.

Joe spews republican propaganda. Axelrod called him out on the show yesterday about his promo with Pres Clinton. He reminded Joe that he voted to impeach Clinton. He wants ppl to believe that he was so instrumental in working with the President when he (I) was working in congress. He beat the "president shows lack of leadership" mantra ad naseum a couple of weeks ago with dramatic pauses.

Of course when Pres. Obama wins in 2012, Joe will start with the.......I always new and told my democratic friends, who some are black, some are white, that this president has the _______, and when i had dinner with some very prominent republicans, you know i said to them this guy has it. I think this guy is gonna do what it best for the country. He has the right temperament to lead this great nation.
