Gilt Home, one of the largest online flash sale hubs has revamped their web site with a whole new look and feel and it debuts today. Two of the major additions to the site include full-fledged e-commerce for home goods (undiscounted) along with new weekly editorial content, which is overseen by Tom Delavan, the former editor-at-large of the much-missed home magazine Domino.
If you're a Gilt Home devotee who's in it for the great discounts on designer goods, not to worry, the daily flash sales will still be a main integral part of the site. It's just that now you also have the option to browse and shop other home offerings (at full price) by theme or company brand or through specific designer boutiques, which sells Gilt Home-exclusive pieces by such designers as Bunny Williams, Alexa Hampton and Laura Kirar along with creations from the designers' own collections.
There's obviously a lot to explore on the new Gilt Home site and while it's likely that we still won't be sweeping up shopping carts of cashmere throws and stainless-steel tableware on a weekly basis, we're definitely keeping an eye out for what's to come editorially on the site. Our favorite stories so far? A personal essay by Tom about the one photo that inspired his career in design, a cheeky recap of some 'Good Trends Gone Bad' and a flower-arranging how-to video.
