First Posted: 10/18/2011 2:12 pm EDT   Updated: 01/14/2013 2:13 pm EST

The above webcast, recorded live on Oct. 21, features veteran Bobby Henline and reporter David Wood discussing "Beyond The Battlefield, Wood's 10-part series focusing on U.S. troops catastrophically wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan. Henline, one of Wood's key subjects in the series, is a living testament to the past decade's advances in battlefield medicine, as the two detail in their talk. Questions submitted by viewers both before and during the webcast were posed by the webcast's moderator, Huffington Post Deputy National Editor Jeff Muskus.

David Wood is the senior military correspondent for The Huffington Post. He has been a journalist since 1970, a staff correspondent successively for Time magazine, the Los Angeles Times, Newhouse News Service and the Baltimore Sun. A birthright Quaker and former conscientious objector, he covers military issues, foreign affairs and combat operations, and has been a Pulitzer Prize finalist for national reporting.

Bobby Henline is a former staff sergeant in the 82nd Airborne who suffered deep burns to his face, left arm and a hand that was later amputated. Henline, who now performs as a stand-up comedian, is profiled in the final installment of "Beyond The Battlefield." He also discusses his feelings about people's reactions to how his appearance was changed by his burns in the seventh of the 10 stories.

Thank you David Wood for bringing these stories to our attention. A brilliant piece of journalism without the editorializing. Just the facts.

You deserve the Pulitzer Prize for Journalism.

As I commented earlier, I have never read anything in my 59 years that took me through such an emotional journey.

Thanks to our veterans and those serving overseas. Many blessings to them and their families.

I hope we learn from this and never again send our children to war needlessly.

Very sad indeed. US has no business being in those countries. The men and women were killed and injured everyday. Two years into this administration, but our men and women are not home. Why don't these congressmen send their husbands, wives and children there to fight, and when they die, they might feel the pain.
