T-Mobile Offers Daily, Monthly Plans With Unlimited Data, Talk, Text

Tmobile Pay By The Day Plans

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 10/18/11 11:19 AM ET Updated: 12/18/11 05:12 AM ET

Want to pay by the day and surf on a 4G network? T-Mobile's got you covered.

The nation's fourth-largest mobile carrier, in an effort to attract a new batch of cost-conscious customers, has announced new daily and monthly plans for its 4G network.

The monthly plan is $60 and gets you unlimited talk, text and web, though your data speeds will be throttled down after your first 2GB of use. More intriguing are the three daily plans: The first is $1/day for unlimited texting, with talk at 10 cents per minute; the second is $2/day for unlimited talk, text and web at 2G speeds; and the third is (any guesses?) $3 per day for unlimited talk, text and web (up to 200MB) at 4G speeds.

T-Mobile, after missing out on the iPhone 4S this autumn and with its merger with AT&T facing a block by the Department of Justice, already has pay-as-you-go, no-contract plans, and they appear to be looking at even more non-traditional sources of revenue with these new plans. (Halloween's right around the corner, and perhaps they're counting on parents wanting to send their pre-teens out with a cell phone in their candy bag.) The carrier's monthly plan, with unlimited talk, text and web at $60, is still much cheaper than comparable plans from Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint (PCMag has a pretty chart comparing plans across those three carriers for 900 minutes of talk, unlimited texting and unlimited data. Spoiler alert: The cheapest plan is Sprint's, at a hair under $100).

Funny how no one mentions Metro PCS. Are they the silent warrior that keeps helping the market stay competitive with $40 unlimited text, web and phone? Who knows....

I signed up for Boost mobile Day Unlimited . I foundout that Boost will not allow me to use which day I need .. Boost requires a minimum of $10 for every reboost .. At $2 a day , I must use phone on 5 consecutive days to run down the $10 I paid.. I am not allowed to hold the funds until I need it for a day a time... It is like a vaccuum cleaner sucking $2 every day no matter if I need it or not... Disgusting!

I went into t-mobile last week, still uninterested in smart phones, and there was basically nothing they could do for me. They had about 2 non-smart phones and neither of them were free. I am I really the last person on earth that doesn't care about caring around a crummy computer in their pocket? Also, I'm 27 so I'm not a total geezer yet either I just want a normal cell phone.

Go to Ebay and buy an unlocked phone. Here is the thing, the price with our without data is almost the same. Not exactly the same but it is heading in that direction. Even a simple candy bar phone can be used to check email or Facebook. You do not have to buy a "smart" phone to have this option. Most newer phones already have it and the phones are dirt cheap. Facebook can wait but why not have the option to check ur email remotely if it costs you next to nothing?

Now, if these are NO CREDIT CHECKS offers, they will take over the cellular world !

There are that many beat up people in the world now.

I remember when, if you wanted to make a call, you had to use something called a "Phone Booth" ten cents usually got you six minutes. They were quite the thing back then. You could even call some of them from your home. It was fun to call them and see who would answer.

I had boost mobile and the service was spotty my messages were never reliable .. recieving and sending.. same with voice mails I would get them when they felt like it.
We switched to talk america for 45 dollars a month with the same unlimited service and I love it..the coverage is awsome the web is fairly quick and I never have a problem with not getting my messages and voice mail ... I have had the service for 3 months now and dont plan on switching.. and I will never again go back to a contract phone.. I love the pre-paid.. no surprise bills or increases and if I dont pay ontime the phone is off until I have the money to pay for it again.. no hassles from the phone company for money!

Lets get together and creat a new wireless plan. One so affordable that everyone will drop their service and come to us. Lets keep the means of manufacturing and customer service in America and give millions of American's their jobs back. When Apple and LG and Samsung and the like say they want us to use their phone lets say okay, but only if you make the phones in America and American's put them together. We could rule the phone company world and be rich. Tech genius' steal my idea. Lets change the status quo.

No complaints whatsoever w/ T-Mo over the past 3 years. Very good customer service.

They're all still too expensive! Stop the mergers and let competition lower the prices.

What's your point? There's nothing from that story that relates to this story!

I've had Sprint, AT&T, and MetroPCS. before I settled on T-Mobile. Have had problems with all, EXCEPT T-Mobile. I also like the fact that T-Mobile wouldn't give my phone info to the FEDS when the rest of the carriers folded. And they always call me to let me know of any new offers they are promoting that give me a better deal - AT&T never would and wouldn't give me more minutes even though they were giving more to "new" customers. But...knowing how crappy AT&T is, if their merger goes through, I'll be gone from T-Mobile forever.

Still not as good as Boost Mobile
04:21 PM on 10/18/2011
Its a good idea they are chasing sprints Boost market which has the best plans out there. I have my evo on boost and currently pay $35 a month unlimited talk text and data no throttle and free wirefi hotspot. I do have a galaxy tab from tmobile wonder if they will have a data only for like $20 a week unlimited.

Ask about having a femtocell installed. Maybe that will help.
