Jon Stewart Rips GOP For 'Pitting Americans Against Americans' With 'Take Our Country Back' Rhetoric (VIDEO)

Conservative rhetoric is by no means a new subject on "The Daily Show," but on Tuesday night's episode, Jon Stewart began the show with a lengthy segment on just that -- and what it means in the wake of Occupy Wall Street.

You'd think the GOP's "Take it to the streets," "Ready for battle" expressions would coincide with what's going on in cities across America right now, but the party is primarily opposed to the populist uprising. Specifically, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, whose sentiments on class warfare caught Stewart's attention most of all. Cantor had previously said that Americans need to "Take this country back" but now, after a month of Occupy Wall Street protests, fears class warfare and is accusing the movement of pitting Americans against Americans. Stewart saw a hole in his logic right away:

"If Republicans don't condone pitting Americans against Americans, well then, who is that we americans should be 'taking this country back' from?"

Of course, Stewart was ready with a slew of clips to back up his argument, showing just who conservatives think America's enemies really are. The list goes on and on, including (but not limited to) liberals, federal employees, activist judges, global warming advocates, the entertainment media, "Tenured professors who can flunk you if you're conservative," according to Newt Gingrich, and "gay people who are living together."

There are so many that Stewart had to put it all into a Venn diagram, and in the process, might have just figured out who Mitt Romney really is.

Watch the full segment above (or click here to watch on "The Daily Show" website) to hear the rest of Stewart's analysis, including how hard it must be for the GOP to "Love America so much, but hate almost three-quarters of the people in it."

Tea Party's Over...Time To Brush Your Tooth

"Breaking News on the new Fox Tea-Pod app"

House votes on biblical legislation parroted as:

"The Real GOP Snow Job Bill"

Republican's hose that: The government needs to get out of the way of our "Crime Creators" and roll back all those draconian laws & white collar regulations (Dud-Frank etc). Anything that imposes a pee pee blanket on our patriotic sociopaths & shyster enterprises must be repealed & replaced with huge tax cuts for the wealthy. According to scripture (Reagan testament 9:9:9) The government cannot create anti-social oligarchy's that demoralize & cripple the poor. Only the private sector knows how to do that effectively. PASS THIS BILL!!!

Republicans also amended "Tart Reform" language in this bill. They outlaw the use of the phrase "Tea Party Caucus" followed immediately by the name Tart Reform. They personally reject being reformed, and despise the use of all honest rhetoric & accurate description.

There's that 'real' word again. 'Real' issues, 'real' Americans.

'Real' isn't whatever you pretend it to be.

I think saying republicans hating 73% of Americans may be too low an estimate.

Take our country back, Republicans? How far back do you want to go? 1930? 1880? Just how far back do you want to take our country?

"Take Our Country Back" is not rhetoric;
consider it more of a banner.

This country has dug a hole SO DEEP financially
and have slide down further morally SO FAR, that
what else do those who care say but TAKE BACK
OUR COUNTRY???

Get it? Or get with it....

Who put us in that DEEP financial hole??
Morals?? You mean like Ensign, Vitter, Billy Graham, Ted Haggard, Chris Lee, Schwartzenegger, Mark Sanford, Giuliani, Larry Craig, Mark Foley, Gingerich??

Those who care?? You mean like those listed above? Or are you talking about us "morally corrupted "liberals""?? Do you mean those who are NOT Evangelical Christians or Dominionists? You mean like those "hippies and bums" that are in the OWS movement? Never mind that there are many, many middle aged and seniors in the group...

Oh,,I think we get it,,,it's really too bad that YOU don't get it.

Folks...lest ye forget that the brilliant Stewart and staff are on The Comedy Channel and not a network. Bear in mind that all of the histrionics are for laughs even if there is an underlying truth to what is being said. This is what makes Stewart and Colbert so topical and funny...they can make their political points in the guise of comedy while still being frank and forthright.

So,,maybe you think we should be listening to that "Fair and Balanced" news channel?? Or how about Becks Web TV or Rushs' radio show?

Jon Stewart has more truth and honesty in his little finger than the above mentioned programs. None so blind as he who will not see........

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
--Thomas Jefferson

"Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
-- Voltaire

"I want the people of America to be able to work less for the government and more for themselves. I want them to have the rewards of their own industry. This is the chief meaning of freedom. Until we can reestablish a condition under which the earnings of the people can be kept by the people, we are bound to suffer a very severe and distinct curtailment of our liberty."

Cantor knows what he is doing, as do the rest of the 1% and their wannabee friends. This isn't by accident. They intend to keep the money that they have inherited, scammed, bullied and SOMETIMES worked for.

They are fearful men and women who will say or do anything to hold on to their power, even if it means destroying you, your family and your country.
