Norman Mailer's Brooklyn Apartment Gets Lawsuit From Owner Wesley Golby (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Legal Fight Over Norman Mailer's Apartment

Norman Mailer's famed renovations to his Brooklyn Heights apartment are now the source of a legal complaint for new owner Wes Golby.

According to The New York Times, Golby, who purchased the apartment for $2.08 million back in July, has filed a legal complaint arguing the Mailer family did not provide documents proving renovations made by the late author were in accordance with building codes.

Golby is now asking to leave his contract and get his $208,750 deposit back.

A lawyer for the Mailer family, Eric Sherman, dismissed the complaint and said Golby was simply exemplifying "a case of buyer's remorse."

The nearly four decade old renovations, which include a series of ladders, landings and small rooms, and a crow's nest, were designed to help Mailer conquer his fear of heights.

The apartment sits atop a brownstone located at 142 Columbia Heights and was originally on the market for $2.5 million.
