'We Found Love' Video Released: Rihanna Goes On A Sexy Drug Trip

Rihanna

Though Rihanna might have shocked an Irish farmer during its production, her latest music video, "We Found Love," is jaw-dropping for a totally different set of reasons.

The video opens with an English woman's somewhat creepy narration: "It's like you're screaming but no one can hear. You almost feel ashamed that someone could be that important, that without them you feel like nothing. No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless, like nothing can save you. And when it's over and it's gone, you almost wish that you could have all that bad stuff back so you could have the good."

Rihanna had expressed that she wanted this video emulate the feeling of taking a drug. And oh boy, does it ever.

The video opens with the R&B singer and British boxer/model Dudley O'Shaughnessy bathing (clothes on), then goes on to narrate the pair's drug-addled love-fest and their inevitable fall.

The Melina Matsoukas-directed video seems to echo Rihanna's own romantic devastation over Chris Brown.

Set against the barren beauty of the Irish countryside, "We Found Love" feels more like a bittersweet indie flick than a decidedly scandalous music video.

CORRECTION: This article's American ears initially heard the accent at the beginning of the video as Irish, although the accent is actually English.

shameful the way her management team exploits this beautiful YOUNG GIRL! We are not going to hell we are already there. Wish the poor child had a strong parent or some adult who CAREd about her as a person

I liked the song and the video, I'm in my 40's and it's pretty good for what it is. It has that kind of British electronica sound. So many people hate this girl and I don't really know why.

That wasn't scandalous, just stupid and boring. It must be great being her boyfriend. She smells like smoke and pukes in the alley. You couldn't pay me to get in a bath tub with her.

I have to say this...I havent seen the video yet...but this chick is hot....she really sizzles....her island roots with a new kind of cosmopolitan kinkiness just sends her over the top and she's got the looks, the body, and the sexuality to make it happen.....she's got a whole lot of stuff....and as for her music...its actually good....she has a nice sound , though a little sad. I honestly like her act...her only mistake was to get into a bad relationship which kind of brought her image down a little..but she's over it.

Oops! Rihanna was tearing the smokes up in the video. Blame Herman Cain and his chief of staff for smoking in the campaign ad. Bad example for Rihanna's fans.

i believe the media and general population at large have a thing about dragging young pop singers through the mud. In the 90s and 80s it was picking on people like Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Madonna etc, then in early 2000s it was people like Britney, Christina, and then came Amy Whinehouse and now that people are done abusing those they have found another popstar to abuse-Rihanna. Its like an obsession. I have read some cruel comments about Justn Bieber and then I then adults who call themselves objective will talk about Rihanna's and Chris Browns incident as some kind of necessary act on Rihanna. Talented or not there are people who obviously enjoy her music and videos. But I think people tend to get too personal and forget that all these people are human. This video is about a timultuous relationship that involves extremes both high and low. but in the end some had to walk away. Get past your prejudice and perhaps you will see the video for what it was intended to be.....

You are kidding right? Rihanna has been coddled non-stop for the past three years. She can say and do anything and its the cutiest thing ever or of course its all Chris Brown's fault. Rihanna, Jay-Z, and her PR team at Def Scam records have used the 1 fight she had 3 years ago with a teenage boy as a weapon against him and a source of media and fan manipulation to sell her music, magazines, concerts etc. Sorry but I can't cry this chick a river for constantly using an old issue to manipulate an unwitting public into buy yet another CD!

With all that said, I do agree that the media loves to build stars up to tear them completely down from Michael Jackson to Britney Spears and the list goes on!

In what ways have you seen Rihanna use that fight for anything other than to speak to young girls and help them get out of similiar situations? If nething she gets more flack for being too easy on him. Petitioning to lessen his restraining orders and telling the media that what he did to her has nothing to do with his career and shouldn't influence it (her words). Encouraging people to get over it and stop black balling and punishing him for it. The fact of the matter is no matter how she responds to it she'll always be wrong to someone. And after 3 yrs she makes ONE video that MIGHT reflect her relationship with him and suddenly shes using it as a publicity stunt?? Even if it is about their relatinship she has EVERY right to express what happened to HER in HER music however she chooses. I truly dont understand how shes ever used that situation to manipulate album sales when shes never even talked about it since and its hardly in any of her music besides this one video

I do not care for her music, but that woman looks RIGHT.

I adore the video. It reminds me of my youth. Being free, no kids, no responsibility and being utterly in love. Feeling so powerful like the world was my oyster and only an extraodinary life lay ahead. I didn't like the song initially but the video gives me a fervor.
