Amusement parks in India, like those in the United States and other countries, offer a wide variety of exciting rides, enticing foods and unexpected thrills like ice-skating. As an important entertainment option for families in India, these parks offer visitors a lighthearted peek into the fascinating culture of India. As part of a Huffington Post Travel series on family-fun parks, here is our guide to all the key information visitors need to know about India's amusement parks.

Wonder La - Bangalore

Wonder La, which has two locations in Bangalore and Kochi, is known for its wide assortment of attractions and overall cleanliness. Opened in 2005, the Bangalore amusement and water park is located 30 kilometers outside the city. The park caters to both adults and children.

Prepare For A Drop

Drop Zone is a favorite at Wonder La, but only for thrill seekers over 12 who do not have heart problems or high blood pressure. The heart-pounding ride can only be compared to bungee jumping. Participants are strapped in and hoisted up 17 meters, then dropped in a free fall, over and over again.

Other Attractions

Aside from thrill rides, Wonder La also boasts a full repertoire of family-friendly attractions. Take a bumper car for a spin in Crazy Cars, or check out a bird’s eye view of the park from the top of the Sky Wheel. The Moon Walker — an inflatable wavy slide with padded walls — is the most suitable for small children.

Restaurants And Kiosks

There are five restaurants and food kiosks located near major attractions throughout the park. Cuisine types range from South Indian fare to vegetarian. Small food kiosks also serve more kid-friendly food, such as ice cream and soft drinks.

Safety Record

Our research revealed no notable news reports of accidents or safety issues at Wonder La.
