The only beachfront amusement park In Maine combines vintage charm with modern thrills, and was featured in the Tom Hanks movie "Big." Palace Playland offers a number of kiddie and family rides, plus the thrills of the Power Surge and Orient Express. The park lights up at night, and there are fireworks on Thursdays during some summer months.
Swing AwayAdrenaline is the pendulum-swinging ride whose name says it all. Riders are swung on a 120-foot arc as the seats of the ride rotate and hover over the park.
Family RidesPalace Playland is truly a family park, with rides for all tastes. There are roller coasters and thrill rides, family rides, and enough kiddie rides to keep little ones entertained.
Fast FoodTraditional fast food fare is served at Palace Playland. There is also a snack bar, ice cream stand and candy shop.
Safety RecordTwo people were killed on a ride called Mind Scrambler, which has since been taken out of the park. A lawsuit was won by the family of a young boy who was killed on a boat ride in 2005.

Funtown Splashtown USA is the largest amusement and water park in Maine. There are old-fashioned rides such as wooden roller coasters and teacups, plus lightning speed modern thrills and family rides.
Tallest Ride In MaineDragon's Descent stands above the park, taking riders on a slow climb up a 220-foot tower. Take in the amazing view from the top of the tallest ride in Maine before being dropped at rapid speeds!
Other AttractionsOther attractions in the park include the waterslides in Splashtown, which have slides for all tastes. There are several kiddie rides to keep young ones entertained, and thrill seekers will not want to miss the speed and music of the Astrosphere.
Drinks And SnacksWhen you've worked up an appetite at Funtown Splashtown USA, there are several options for typical fast food fare, but also Mexican entrees and BBQ chicken sandwiches. There are lots of places to stop and get drinks and snacks as well.
Safety RecordIn 2005, a woman sued the park based on head injuries sustained from the Splish water slide. No other notable incidents were found.
