The season finale of "Jersey Shore" airs October 20, and now that the cast has left Florence and returned to the U.S. to shoot another season of the hit reality show, stars Sammi Giancola and Deena Nicole Cortese can both say with certainty: New Jersey guys are better than the men they met in Italy.
"In Italy, I was very homesick and I was having a problem. It's hard for me to like the guys over there," Deena told me on the set of "New York Live."
"They are so little," Sammi dished about Italian men, holding up her pinky finger. "They are short ... they are skinny," she added, as the whole studio -- with the exception of the Italian men present -- burst into laughter.
"It wasn't even only the way they looked. Every time I met one of them, like, I would start to talk with them and it was weird. Something would go wrong," Deena said, seemingly forgetting that people speak a different language in Italy.
One person we did see Deena get intimate with in Italy was co-star Pauly D, but she explains it was only because she was homesick.
"You know what it was? I started like getting confused as how I felt with him. I was just so lonely, I was homesick. They don't show how homesick I was and I was just, like, taking his comfort and think of, like, being 'Oh I love Pauly. Do I love him more than a friend?' And then I was like 'No, I love Pauly as a friend. What am I going to do?'" explains Deena.
So what can we expect next from the "Jersey Shore" gang? Lots more drama -- that's a given -- and maybe a chance to watch Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and "90210" guest star Vinny Guadagnino make the jump from reality TV into full-fledged acting.
But not these ladies.
"We will do this forever. We love it," Sammi said.
