Colbert Defends O'Reilly From Book-Burning Soldiers In Afghanistan (VIDEO)

WATCH: Colbert Slams O'Reilly-Hating Troops

When Stephen Colbert caught wind of the U.S. troops in Afghanistan who were less than pleased to get a box of Bill O'Reilly's book "Pinheads and Patriots," he couldn't understand why they would burn the books.

Colbert's audience can barely contain their glee that the soldiers set aflame to O'Reilly's manifesto -- officially because the books took up too much space on the military base, but also noting that they didn't mind "removing a few copies of this bigoted twerp's book from circulation" by burning them. But Colbert is baffled why they wouldn't instead use copies of the O'Reilly tome as armor or, perhaps, toilet paper.

Although a striden supporter of the troops, Colbert comes to the defense of Papa Bear O'Reilly by labeling the troops "pinheads." But only because he loves them too much.
