Curbspotting: A Vintage Side table

See This Table Go From Old To Gold

Chevron is one of the most iconic design patterns, from Missoni for Target platters to Jonathan Adler pillows, and it's no wonder when you see what a little paint and a chevron pattern did to elevate this curbside table! We know...wow, a painted table, novel idea. But, you should never underestimate a great paint job.

In this makeover, Hannah Kate Flora completely modernized this dirty, dusty and totally dull brown side table she found on the street. First, she added two coats of wood/metal spray paint in a bone white color. Next, she taped off the classic zig-zag chevron pattern with painters tape (tip: cut all of the strips to equal lengths before laying the pattern to speed up the process). Then, she painted the table with a glitzy gold spray paint - one thing to remember, gold spray paints can often have a green cast, so use this Montana version for a true gold. Finally, Hannah peeled off the tape. Totally painless, right? The metallic sheen and classic pattern completely revamped the somewhat overused makeover-by-painting technique, and the table looks so glamorous now!
